Thuong Tin: Collecting public opinions on the planning of Nhi Khe resettlement area

HNP - On October 3, the People's Committee of Thuong Tin commune held a conference to collect community opinions on the master plan project at a scale of 1/500 for the construction of Nhi Khe resettlement area to serve the site clearance for the high-speed railway construction investment project on the North-South axis.

The North-South high-speed railway is identified as a strategic infrastructure project of Vietnam Railways, with a total length of 1,508.6km. The section passing through Thuong Tin commune alone is about 4.68km long, with the clearance area in case of conversion of about 50m from the center of the railway on each side. The project not only affects agricultural land but also affects existing residential areas, auxiliary works and part of the cemetery.

The People's Committee of Thuong Tin Commune will reclaim residential land from about 46 households; the cemetery area within the project area is nearly 1 hectare, with more than 1,000 graves in Thuong Dinh village. Therefore, the formation of component resettlement projects is necessary to ensure stable, long-term housing for people in the affected area.

According to the proposal, the Nhi Khe resettlement planning scheme is expected to have a total research area of ​​about 4.94 hectares, most of which is agricultural land. The project has been approved by the City and the Department of Planning and Architecture, with a planned main traffic route of 20.5m, an internal road of 13m, and residential land of 13,920m² (accounting for 28.2%, about 172 lots, with an average area of ​​80m² according to the minimum standard); the rest is land for trees, playgrounds, and commercial services (5,002.57m²).

At the conference, households expressed their consensus and high agreement on the site clearance work to serve the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis, and at the same time made a number of recommendations and proposals to the Commune People's Committee.

Responding to the petitions and proposals of the households, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thuong Tin Commune, Uong Thi Phuong, affirmed that in the process of site clearance, the locality always complies with legal regulations, ensures the highest benefits for the affected people, creates consensus and trust in the community. The People's Committee of the commune hopes that the households support the local government, closely coordinate, and promptly hand over the clean site so that the project can be implemented on schedule, contributing to the realization of the national key project.
