The Standing Committee of Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee directed the naming of new communes and wards associated with places, history and culture.

Recently, the naming of communes and wards after the rearrangement has attracted great public attention.

On the afternoon of April 22, the Hai Duong Provincial Party Committee Office issued a notice of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee's opinion on researching, selecting and proposing names for commune-level administrative units after the arrangement for localities and units to implement.

Accordingly, to ensure the progress of implementing the tasks as required, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee assigned the members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee in charge of the Party Committees of districts, towns and cities to directly participate with the Standing Committees of the District Party Committees, Town Party Committees and City Party Committees to research and select the naming of the commune-level administrative units after the arrangement, associated with long-standing places and famous people, in accordance with the traditional, historical and cultural factors of the locality and supported by the local people.

The secretaries of district, city and town party committees are responsible to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee for proposing the selection of names for commune-level administrative units after the rearrangement in the area, reporting to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, and ensuring progress as required.

Previously, according to the project to arrange commune-level administrative units of the province sent to get voters' opinions, the new administrative units were expected to be named after districts, cities, and towns with serial numbers attached.

On April 22, localities will review and research plans for naming new commune-level administrative units after arranging them according to long-standing place names and famous people in accordance with the traditional historical and cultural factors of the locality and send reports to the Department of Home Affairs to report to the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee for consideration and comments.
