Actively transforming digitally to build "Smart New Rural Areas"

On the morning of October 14, Ha Tinh Cooperative Alliance coordinated with the Center for Trade and Investment Promotion - Vietnam Cooperative Alliance to organize the Conference "Effective implementation of the digital transformation program in new rural construction, towards smart new rural areas in the period 2021 - 2025".

Leaders of Ha Tinh Cooperative Alliance and leaders of the Center for Trade and Investment Promotion of Vietnam Cooperative Alliance chaired the conference.

The digital transformation program in new rural construction towards smart new rural areas in Ha Tinh province for the period 2023 - 2025 sets a target that by the end of 2025, at least 90% of provincial-level work records, 80% of district-level work records (old) and 60% of commune-level work records will be processed online; 100% of managers at all levels participating in the implementation of the National Target Program on new rural construction will be trained and have their capacity improved in digital transformation; at least 70% of communes have cooperatives participating in linkage models associated with the consumption of key agricultural products of the commune, 70% of district-level (old) have production linkage models associated with the consumption of key agricultural products of the district and 50% of linkage models associated with raw material areas will apply digital technology .

According to the roadmap, many basic goals have been completed so far. However, in order for the "Digital transformation program in new rural construction in the period of 2021 - 2025" to achieve many practical results, contributing to the sustainable development of rural areas in Vietnam, there are still many issues to be addressed.

Mr. Vu Quang Phong - General Director of the Center for Trade and Investment Promotion (Vietnam Cooperative Alliance) highly appreciated Ha Tinh's efforts in digital transformation in new rural construction.

The conference listened to practical experience sharing from representatives of state management agencies, experts, technology enterprises, and representatives of cooperatives and localities in implementing digital transformation models in the agricultural and rural sectors.

Opinions all affirm that digital transformation is the key driving force to promote rural economic development, improve people's quality of life, and move towards building smart and sustainable new rural areas.

Many opinions also delved into specific issues such as: the effectiveness of AI applications in production activities for businesses and cooperatives; digital transformation solutions for cooperatives through accounting software, production logs, sales management; solutions to improve sales efficiency through e-commerce platforms...

Ms. Le Thi Van - Director of Thao Van Agricultural and Service Cooperative (Huong Khe commune) contributed ideas at the conference.

At the same time, delegates also raised difficulties in digital transformation such as uneven staff capacity, limited finance and investment resources for digital solutions of cooperatives; many cooperatives are afraid to change traditional production methods, afraid to access information technology in management and operation, leading to not fully promoting the effectiveness of digital transformation in cooperative operations in particular and in new rural construction in general.

Concluding the conference, Mr. Bui Huy Cuong - Chairman of the Provincial Cooperative Union emphasized the basic requirements to improve digital transformation activities such as: need to raise awareness and digital capacity for grassroots staff, cooperatives and rural people; promote the application of digital platforms in management, production and consumption of products, especially OCOP products, local agricultural products; strengthen connections between cooperatives and technology enterprises, create a digital ecosystem in agriculture, contributing to effective collective economic development.

Mr. Bui Huy Cuong, Chairman of the Provincial Cooperative Union, delivered a concluding speech at the conference.

The Chairman of the Ha Tinh Provincial Cooperative Union also requested that all levels and sectors continue to pay attention to supporting resources, mechanisms, and policies so that digital transformation can truly go into depth, bringing practical benefits to the people.
