Within the framework of the Forum "Promoting innovation, developing strategic technology industries" of the National Innovation Festival and Vietnam International Innovation Expo 2025 (Viet Nam International Innovation Expo - VIIE 2025), the National Innovation Center (NIC), in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and the Embassy of Japan, officially announced the Vietnam AI Startup Accelerator Program (VietLeap AI Accelerator).

The program is one of the important initiatives among many activities that the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) is implementing to support Vietnam in developing AI, thereby contributing to building a strong and sustainable innovation ecosystem.

The announcement of the program not only marks the beginning of an annual program dedicated to AI startups, but also demonstrates Japan's commitment to accompanying Vietnam on the path to becoming a regional hub for strategic technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI).

The program is expected to select 10-15 early-stage AI startups with growth potential and clear funding needs. Participating startups will be connected and have growth opportunities by leveraging the partnership network, strategic links with businesses and market expansion opportunities to promote sustainable growth.

In parallel, get infrastructure and technology support with access to cutting-edge resources such as cloud credits, high-performance GPU infrastructure, APIs, and essential business toolkits from leading technology partners, helping to accelerate product development and scale efficiently.

At the same time, startups are also developed with capacity and advice, especially 1:1 advice from leading experts, supporting business model consolidation, optimizing market access strategies and improving operational capacity.

Also related to AI, thanks to the continuous promotion of artificial intelligence applications, the Vietnamese “super port” SuperPort™ of T&T Group has made a strong impression on many Party and State leaders, delegates and visitors. By introducing to the public many of the world’s most modern AI solutions, combined with previous breakthrough technology solutions, the “super port” aims to improve the efficiency of the logistics system, making Vietnam a strategic link in the global supply chain.

ICD Vinh Phuc – Vietnam SuperPort™ invested by the Joint Venture T&T Group and YCH Group (Singapore) this time has brought many impressive technological experiences. Sharing with Nhan Dan Newspaper, Dr. Yap Kwong Weng, CEO of Vietnam SuperPort™ said that Vietnam SuperPort™ has been and will be integrating artificial intelligence (AI) application technologies that have been successfully deployed in the supply chain - Supply Chain City (SCC) of YCH Group in Singapore.

According to Dr. Yap Kwong Weng, ICD Vinh Phuc also cooperates to develop AI solutions with the world's leading technology partners to enhance cargo handling capacity and support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Vietnam. The breakthrough innovations of the unit include 4 key solutions: new generation artificial intelligence for aviation operations; logistics connection platform; automatic cargo handling by robots and building a roadmap according to international standards, towards the commitment to Net Zero by 2040 (10 years earlier than the national target).

Speaking to Nhan Dan Newspaper, Mr. Ha Tuan Anh, Founder and CEO of Locath Solution Tech Joint Stock Company (Hanoi), in the context that the Party and State are considering innovation as a driving force for development, AI startups are not just “small businesses” but are actually the backbone for forming endogenous technological capacity. Therefore, the Party and State need to see startups not as “auxiliaries” but as a foundation for technological breakthroughs, AI startups need to be given more opportunities.

Currently, many current support packages do not go to the right place, the right person, the right job, so hopefully, in the future, support policies must be transparent, fair, and have a strict monitoring mechanism so that State capital can really reach those who are struggling day and night to develop technology, especially technology applying artificial intelligence. The "Vietnam AI Startup Accelerator Program" can also be an effective and practical support channel for Vietnamese AI startups.
