Industry and Trade Situation April 2024

* Industrial production value (at 2010 comparable prices) April 2024 is estimated at 231.9 billion VND, up 9.1% over March 2024, up 9.3% over the same period last year, of which:

- The mining industry has a high growth rate due to the strong increase in construction activities, leading to an increase in demand for construction stone and sand. Production value reached 12.4 billion VND, an increase of 86% compared to March 2024, an increase of 0.2% compared to the same period last year.

- The processing and manufacturing industry has a high growth rate compared to March 2024 and the same period last year because the tea trees are in the harvesting stage, the tea business area has increased compared to the same period, and the Norcem Yen Binh cement factory is operating stably. Production value reached 74.3 billion VND, up 32.71% compared to March 2024, up 76.7% compared to the same period last year.

- Power generation industry reached 141 billion VND, down 3.2% compared to March 2024, down 8.4% compared to the same period last year due to little rainfall in April, the hot weather is still ongoing; Lai Chau and Ban Chat hydropower plants continue to store water for the peak hot months of 2024 (May-June) to ensure the implementation of solutions to minimize the risk of water shortage for downstream river basins in the dry season of 2024 according to the direction of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Ministry of Industry and Trade .

- Water production and waste collection industry remained stable, with production value reaching 4.2 billion VND, up 0.5% compared to March 2024, up 11.4% over the same period last year.

* Some main production products are estimated to reach: Electricity production 158.9 million kWh; construction stone 46,500 ^m3 ; dry tea 1,160 tons, construction bricks 7.2 million pieces; tap water production 496,000 ^m3 ; cement 20,300 tons .

The number of communes, wards and towns with national grid electricity is 106/106 communes, reaching 100%. The number of households using national grid electricity is 102,696/106,421 households, reaching 96.5%. The number of villages using national grid electricity is 933/958 villages, reaching 97.4.

Commercial activities : Total retail sales of goods and service revenue in April 2024 is estimated at VND 762.3 billion, up 4.67% compared to March 2024, up 11.2% over the same period last year, of which: Retail sales of goods are estimated at VND 643.4 billion, up 4.47% compared to March 2024, up 11.6% over the same period last year; accommodation and catering services are estimated at VND 58.7 billion, up 8.9% over the previous month, up 9.9% over the same period last year; travel services and tourism support activities are estimated at VND 0.52 billion, up 15.6% compared to March 2024, up 6.1% over the same period last year; Other services are estimated at 59.7 billion VND, up 2.8% compared to March 2024, up 8.9% over the same period last year.

Main service groups in the province: Food and foodstuffs 223.9 billion VND; garments 38.3 billion VND; household appliances and utensils 77.3 billion VND; cultural and educational items 4.7 billion VND; wood and construction materials 82.6 billion VND; means of transport 36.6 billion VND; gasoline 105 billion VND; other goods and services 193.9 billion VND.

Import-export activities: Total import-export turnover of goods in the province in April 2024 is estimated at 2.86 million USD, an increase of 14.5% compared to March 2024, a decrease of 67.6% over the same period last year, specifically:

- The export turnover of goods reached 1.64 million USD, up 11.03% compared to March 2024, up 7.06% over the same period last year, of which the export value of local goods reached 0.54 million USD, up 4.69% compared to March 2024, up 1.9% over the same period last year. Some of the main export items of the locality include: 180 tons of tea, worth 0.47 million USD, up 34.3% over the same period last year; other goods worth 0.07 million USD.

- Import turnover of goods reached 1.22 million USD, up 19.52% compared to March 2024, down 83.27% over the same period last year.

Promotion activities : Continue to conduct surveys, collect information, contact and interview to serve the work of building a report "Propaganda to mobilize households to participate in the movement of households using energy economically and efficiently" (No. 02); continue to implement the project "Supporting the construction and registration of trademark protection for industrial and handicraft products". Organize "Training to improve management capacity, awareness and capacity to apply cleaner production in industry".
