Situation of fishery, agriculture and forestry production in Ca Mau province in April 2025

The situation of fishery - agriculture - forestry production continued to grow positively, many indicators increased compared to the same period: Aquatic product output increased by 3.8% (mainly aquaculture output increased sharply); improved extensive shrimp farming area increased compared to the same period, extensive shrimp farming combined with effective promotion of sustainable production models meeting domestic and international certification standards. Total aquatic product output in the month is estimated at 57,745 tons, accumulated from the beginning of the year to now reaching 223,175 tons, equal to 33.3% of the plan, up 3.8% over the same period; of which, shrimp output is estimated at 23,425 tons, accumulated at 84,915 tons, equal to 32% of the plan, up 3.4% over the same period; The estimated monthly output of aquatic products reached 21,245 tons, the cumulative output from the beginning of the year was estimated at 80,675 tons, equal to 33.6% of the plan, up 1.5% over the same period; the monthly output of aquaculture reached 36,500 tons, the cumulative output from the beginning of the year was estimated at 142,500 tons, equal to 33.1% of the plan, up 5.2% over the same period. The price of raw black tiger shrimp was stable, while the price of white-leg shrimp decreased sharply compared to the previous month from 10,000 - 40,000 VND/kg.

Regarding agriculture , 35,234 hectares of winter-spring rice were completely harvested , reaching 100% of the plan, with an estimated output of 217,041.4 tons. The output of rice crops in 2024 - 2025 is estimated at 406,694 tons, equal to 74% of the plan, with a good yield, and output reaching and exceeding the plan. The third crop of rice was harvested on 13 hectares, with a yield of 5.5 tons/hectare. During the month, the plowed area to prepare for the summer-autumn rice crop was 22,947 hectares, with a cumulative 27,919 hectares, equal to 79.2% of the plan, down 7% over the same period. Continue to implement the Project of 1 million hectares of high-quality, low-emission rice associated with green growth. The livestock and poultry farming situation is stable, and herd development continues to be maintained. Since the beginning of the year, the total number of pigs sold is 84,700, equal to 35.3% of the plan, up 13.8% over the same period. The total number of poultry sold is 2,305,000, equal to 36.6% of the plan, up 11.9% over the same period.

Regarding forestry: Forest management, protection, afforestation, fire prevention and fighting are carried out by functional units and forest owners according to plan. During the month, there was 01 forest fire in Sub-zone 064, Khanh Binh Tay Bac commune, Tran Van Thoi district due to burning of vegetation after exploitation, the damaged area was 0.66 ha of production forest; 13 cases of illegal transportation of forest products were discovered, with a total of 21 cases since the beginning of the year./.
