Governor of Udon Thani Province, Thailand congratulates 80th anniversary of Vietnam National Day

On September 1, Mr. Rachan Soonhua, Governor of Udon Thani Province, Thailand, came to offer incense to President Ho Chi Minh and congratulate the Vietnamese Consulate General in Khon Ken on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.

The two sides exchanged plans for work coordination, especially meaningful activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Thailand diplomatic relations (August 6, 1976 - August 6, 2026).

Also joining the delegation were Deputy Governor Nathapol Withee and many leaders of Udon Thani province's departments and branches. In a warm and friendly atmosphere, Governor Rachan Soonhua congratulated Vietnam on its great and meaningful achievements over the past 80 years and expressed his joy at the Vietnam-Thailand relationship being upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership, strongly demonstrating the spirit of friendship, cooperation as well as the increasingly close and affectionate relationship between the two peoples.

On this occasion, Governor Rachan Soonhua thanked Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh for his trust and initiative in choosing to organize many meaningful activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Udon Thani.

Governor Rachan Soonhua emphasized that this is an honor and a good opportunity for Udon Thani to show its goodwill to cooperate with Vietnam in many specific activities, such as the business forum "Strengthening Vietnam - Thailand cooperation in the new era", "Vietnam - Northeast Thailand Goods Fair" or "Go Global thematic dialogue session - Vietnam Private Economic Forum 2025" held for the first time in Udon Thani, Thailand.

Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh was moved to express his gratitude for the attention and kind gestures of Governor Rachan Soonhua and the leaders of Udon Thani province, as well as for their active coordination contributing to the success of the program celebrating the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day organized by the Consulate General.

In particular, Governor Rachan Soonhua's congratulatory speech at the anniversary celebration on the evening of August 28 and the economic diplomatic events demonstrated valuable support and goodwill to cooperate, contributing to strongly promoting the cooperative and friendly relationship between Vietnam and Thailand.

On this occasion, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh and Governor Rachan Soonhua discussed many plans for future cooperation, especially meaningful activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Thailand diplomatic relations (August 6, 1976 - August 6, 2026) with the active role of the overseas Vietnamese community in Thailand in general and Udon Thani in particular.

At the end of the meeting, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh respectfully presented Governor Rachan Soonhua and Deputy Governor Nathapol Withee with the book “Uncle Ho in Thailand” in Thai and Vietnamese and affirmed the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh to the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Thailand.
