Seminar on propaganda to prevent and combat child marriage and incestuous marriage

Recently, the Ethnic Affairs Department coordinated with Tan Son District Youth Union and People's Committees of Thach Kiet, Kiet Son, and Thu Cuc communes to organize a seminar and cultural exchange to propagate the Law on Marriage and Family and prevent and reduce the situation of early marriage and incestuous marriage in My A area, Thu Cuc commune.

The discussion was performed in a theatrical form for the people to easily hear and understand.

This is the propaganda content of Sub-Project 2 of Project 9 under the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the period 2021-2030 on Reducing early marriage and consanguineous marriage in ethnic minority areas.

The seminar was attended by Youth Union officials, youth union members, women's union members of 3 communes and a large number of people of Thu Cuc commune. At the seminar, the delegates and people were informed by the district's Ethnic Affairs Department about the regulations on the age of marriage for men and women according to the 2014 Law on Marriage and Family; the consequences and implications of early marriage and incestuous marriage for individuals, families and society; the provisions of the law on punishment of early marriage and incestuous marriage; the participation of the entire political system, sectors, levels and the masses in preventing, stopping, and moving towards repelling and eliminating the above social evils in the coming time.

Through the propaganda session, the people, especially ethnic minorities, will better understand that early marriage and incestuous marriage are illegal acts, violate the ethics, traditions and customs of the Vietnamese people; cause great consequences for society, reduce population quality, degrade the race, directly affect the quality of human resources and are one of the obstacles to economic , cultural and social development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas.

Thereby contributing to raising awareness and responsibility of functional agencies, Party committees, local authorities, families and schools in managing and educating students, effectively implementing legal regulations on marriage and family.
