The office was established on the basis of merging the former land registration offices in Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau .
The Ho Chi Minh City Land Registration Office has its head office at 12 Phan Dang Luu (Gia Dinh Ward), with two other locations at 321 Phu Loi (Phu Loi Ward) and 1939 National Highway 55 (Long Dien Commune). This is a public service unit with legal status, using its own seal and opening accounts at the State Treasury and banks.
According to the decision, the land registration office has the function of registering and issuing certificates of land use rights and ownership of assets attached to land; measuring, adjusting, and creating cadastral maps; building, managing, operating, and exploiting the land information system; providing public services on land and supporting State management in the field of land in Ho Chi Minh City.
In parallel, Ho Chi Minh City also established 38 branches of the land registration office. These branches are public service units, have their own seals, are under the comprehensive management of the Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Land Registration Office, and at the same time fully perform the functions, tasks and powers of the Ho Chi Minh City Land Registration Office within the assigned area.
Depending on the actual situation, the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City will submit to competent authorities for consideration and decision to adjust the areas of responsibility of branches to ensure operational efficiency and better serve the needs of people and businesses.
