(NLDO) - The price of SJC gold bars and 99.88 gold rings traded this evening, August 8, continued to skyrocket, even though the world gold price only increased slightly.

At 7:00 p.m. on August 8, Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) listed the buying price of SJC gold bars at 123.2 million VND/tael and the selling price at 124.4 million VND/tael - an increase of 400,000 VND per tael compared to the morning.

Notably, despite the gold bar price going up, setting a new historical peak - higher than the peak set last April at around 124 million VND/tael, the buying - selling price range was narrowed by SJC Company.

Currently, the difference between the buying and selling price of SJC gold bars is only 1.2 million VND/tael, a very low level in recent days. The sudden narrowing of the difference reflects that people's demand for gold is higher than selling, forcing the company to raise the buying price to stimulate customers to sell.

Some other gold companies such as PNJ, DOJI , Mi Hong also traded SJC gold bar prices at new peaks.

Soaring compared to world gold prices

Meanwhile, the price of 99.99 gold rings and jewelry gold of all kinds was traded at 117.3 million VND/tael for buying and 119.8 million VND/tael for selling - an increase of 500,000 VND/tael compared to the morning.

This is also a very strong increase in the price of gold rings in recent days. The price of gold rings is currently 4 million VND/tael lower than that of SJC gold bars.

SJC gold bar price increased rapidly, reaching a new peak at the end of August 8.

The sharp increase in domestic gold prices at the end of the day was quite surprising. Because, in the international market, gold prices were trading at 3,387 USD/ounce, slightly increasing by about 5 USD/ounce compared to the previous session.

With the above developments, the gap between domestic gold prices and world gold prices continues to widen. Currently, the world gold price converted according to the listed exchange rate is about 107.6 million VND/tael, lower than SJC gold bars by nearly 17 million VND/tael - approximately the record level in the period of late last year and early this year.
