On the evening of April 30, information from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health said that Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital (District 5, Ho Chi Minh City) is treating two patients, a police officer and a militia member, who were injured while on duty.
Accordingly, in the early morning of April 29, the hospital received a patient who was a police officer (32 years old). While on duty, a woman approached and stabbed him in the right neck with a knife. The wound was complex and deep, bleeding profusely, and blood pressure dropped.
The on-duty team quickly consulted and activated the red alert, moving the patient to the emergency operating room. After many hours of surgery, hemostasis and resuscitation, the patient's condition gradually stabilized.

The second patient is a militiaman (47 years old), while on guard duty, was stabbed in the chest by a woman with a knife, causing critical condition. The patient was bandaged to stop the bleeding and the chest wound was stitched. The patient’s health is now stable.
Previously, there were also cases of law enforcement officers being attacked. Specifically, at around 7:45 p.m. on July 4, 2023, while checking alcohol concentration at the intersection of National Highway 1 - To Ngoc Van (Thanh Xuan Ward, District 12), the Binh Trieu Traffic Police Team discovered Dang Van Duc (30 years old, from Hau Giang ) driving a motorbike with signs of having consumed alcohol, so they asked him to stop the vehicle for inspection.
When tested for alcohol concentration, this person violated 0.579 mg/l of breath. Duc asked the working group to ignore the violation but was not accepted. The working group asked Duc to present his identity papers, vehicle papers and driver's license to proceed with drawing up an administrative violation record according to regulations.
Not presenting enough documents, Duc "begged" the traffic police twice to let it go but failed, so he was upset.
At this time, Duc asked to go into a resident's house to use the restroom, then took a Thai knife about 15cm long and stabbed Captain Le Bao Trung in the right side of the neck from behind, causing bleeding.
Immediately after that, Duc was controlled by the task force, the weapon was confiscated and handed over to Thanh Xuan Ward Police, District 12 for handling. Captain Trung was taken to Hiep Binh Phuoc Ward Medical Station for first aid, 3 stitches on the stab wound, then transferred to Thu Duc General Hospital.
