
Reporting to the working delegation, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thanh Nhan, Head of Nam Du Border Guard Station, said that in the first 9 months of 2025, the unit strictly maintained combat readiness regimes; deployed patrol and control activities to firmly protect sovereignty , security, order and safety of border areas in sea and island areas; effectively fought against all types of crimes; strictly controlled people and vehicles entering and exiting the sea areas under the unit's management, especially the activities of passenger ships to tourist islands to ensure safety...
The unit also does a good job in social security. Since the beginning of the year, the station has coordinated with local authorities and units to mobilize 1,400 bags of cement for the construction of civil works on the island; supported the construction of 2 solidarity houses worth 120 million VND for poor households on the island; supported students in the program "Helping children go to school"...
After inspecting and grasping the situation on the island, Major General Hoang Huu Chien highly appreciated the efforts and endeavors of the officers and soldiers of Nam Du Border Guard Station. The Major General requested that the Party Committee of the An Giang Provincial Border Guard Command continue to strictly maintain combat readiness; develop additional plans for natural disaster prevention, mitigation, search and rescue.
Along with that, fight against crime; organize training, study to improve professional skills, grasp the functions, tasks and powers of the Border Guard to well perform the task of managing and protecting the sea and island borders.
In addition, strengthen coordination and propaganda for fishermen to strictly comply with regulations in fishing activities, not violate regulations on IUU fishing; grasp and properly handle incidents and situations in border areas, seas and islands.

On this occasion, Major General Hoang Huu Chien and the delegation offered incense at the memorial stele for fishermen who died in storm Linda in 1997; presented gifts from the Border Guard General Staff to officers and soldiers of Nam Du Border Guard Station, Police, Navy, and Local Team (Kien Hai Special Zone) and 10 students of An Son Secondary School, Kien Hai Special Zone.
