
Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, emphasized that nearly 80 years ago, the Popular Education Movement became a historical milestone, contributing to eliminating illiteracy and improving the knowledge of the entire population. Today, in the age of technology, the "Digital Popular Education" movement was initiated with the mission of helping people master knowledge, technology and life in cyberspace.
According to Ms. Thuy, the City has set a specific goal that by 2026, 100% of adults will have basic knowledge of digital transformation, be proficient in using smart devices, and be certified to have universal digital knowledge on the VNeID platform.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, the city simultaneously deployed a series of activities to guide the use of the "Ho Chi Minh City Digital Citizen Application", install essential applications such as VNeID, VSSID, E-tax, cashless payment and digital signature; and at the same time, launch a community digital technology volunteer team in 168 communes and wards.
Models such as “Digital Family”, “Digital Ambassador”, “Digital Market”, “Morning Coffee - Digital Skills Exchange” will also be replicated to spread the spirit of lifelong learning and improve digital capacity among the people.
Representing the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Pham Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City affirmed that the "Digital Education for All" movement is a nationwide campaign for the sustainable development of the City in the digital age, demonstrating the Front's accompanying role in propaganda, mobilization and supervision of the digital transformation process.
“Digital literacy is a fundamental step to help people master technology, turn digital knowledge into endogenous strength, and contribute to improving and enhancing the quality of life,” Mr. Tuan shared.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front of Ho Chi Minh City and socio-political organizations will play a core role in propaganda, mobilizing people to participate in the movement, forming volunteer teams to spread digital knowledge to all classes, especially vulnerable groups.
At the same time, the movement will mobilize cadres, civil servants, public employees, workers, students and businesses to participate in learning digital skills, effectively using smart devices, platforms and online public services, contributing to building a digital government, digital society and comprehensive digital economy.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Digital Transformation Center, the event organizer, the movement was implemented in a methodical, scientific and flexible manner, with the motto "understand immediately - do - use immediately", ensuring that all activities are practical, close and suitable to the actual needs of the people.
The launching ceremony also witnessed the signing of the Coordination Program between the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City in implementing the "Digital Education for All" movement, demonstrating the high political determination and consensus of the entire political system.

Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairwoman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee affirmed: "The Digital Education Movement is not only an administrative task, but also a nationwide movement for the sustainable development of Ho Chi Minh City in the digital age".
