Tran Quang Loc defeated Vietnamese-American boxer to defend his championship belt.

The highlight of the 3rd event of MMA Vietnam 2023 was the 70kg championship match between Tran Quang Loc and Kamil Michael Nguyen Van. The boxer from Lien Phong martial arts school successfully defended his championship belt after 5 rounds.

Tran Quang Loc and Kamil are not unfamiliar opponents. Therefore, they did not need to test each other but entered the match fiercely right from the first round.

Quang Loc mainly used punches, while Kamil performed low kicks. In the second round, Kamil suddenly approached and performed a back kick technique. However, Quang Loc escaped. The 2022 MMA champion switched to kicks and scored a point at the end of the round.

Tran Quang Loc defeated Kamil in the 70kg title match.

Rounds three and four saw Quang Loc continue to be effective with his side kicks and front kicks. Kamil continued to use his punches and low kicks.

In the final round, Quang Loc had the advantage of leading the score. This boxer kept a good distance but still kept effective kicks. With no other choice, Kamil tried to knock down his opponent but Quang Loc anticipated this to avoid falling into his opponent's trap. At the end of the match, Quang Loc won by points.

Besides the match between Quang Loc and Kamil, the third event of MMA Vietnam 2023 also has 14 other matches. In the 84kg category, World Wushu Silver Medalist Pham Cong Minh easily knocked out Cao Viet Anh in 2 minutes 57 seconds of the first round.

In addition, boxer Tran Ngoc Luong, who won the controversial decision against Robson Oliveira in the April 22 event, was promoted to compete in the A category. Tran Ngoc Luong's opponent was Lai The Toan. Ngoc Luong won by knockout after 3 minutes and 2 seconds in the first round.

The 4th event of MMA Vietnam 2023 will take place on July 8 in Ho Chi Minh City.
