Awarding 22 prizes in the 16th writing contest "Simple and noble examples"

Among the 22 awards, 3 A prizes were awarded to the works "Journalist Ha Dang - a giant of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism", "General Nguyen Huy Hieu - A simple general and a life of dedication", "Missile girl".

On the morning of September 25, in Hanoi, the People's Army Newspaper, the Press and Publishing Department (Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission), the People's Army Publishing House and Bac A Commercial Joint Stock Bank ( BAC A BANK ) organized the summary and award ceremony of the 16th "Simple but Noble Examples" writing contest (2024-2025), launching the 17th writing contest (2025-2026).

The writing contest “Ordinary yet noble examples” is a bridge connecting loving hearts, spreading noble human values. Over the past 16 years, thousands of works have portrayed the images of countless ordinary yet extraordinary people, in all fields, in all regions of the country - people who are silently contributing day and night to build the country.

Speaking at the competition and congratulating its success, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the People's Army, emphasized that this year's works continue to have a high level of discovery, vividly reflecting real people and real events. They are simple but noble examples in all walks of life, in all areas of social life, with many contributions to the community, society, the people and the Fatherland. Most prominent is the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new period, not only steadfast in training and ready to fight, but also a reliable support for the people in preventing natural disasters and epidemics; leading in scientific research, applying new technologies, making an important contribution to the cause of building the army, strengthening national defense, protecting the Fatherland, and beautifying the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the hearts of the people.

The 16th writing contest "Ordinary and noble examples" was launched on December 5, 2024 and will accept entries until July 31, 2025. The contest aims to discover and honor typical individuals who are Vietnamese citizens of all backgrounds, ages, and occupations, who do ordinary daily tasks but bring high value and efficiency, creating positive changes in each agency, unit, and field of work; people who always try to overcome circumstances and fate, dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility, put the interests of the country, the interests of the nation - people and the community above all.

This is one of the meaningful political and cultural activities towards the celebration of major holidays in 2024 and 2025; at the same time, demonstrating creativity in implementing the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle.

This contest attracted the participation of many authors, both professional and amateur, across the country, with many articles being carefully invested, vividly presented, attractive and highly convincing.

Through two rounds of judging by the Preliminary and Final Jury, the Organizing Committee selected 22 excellent works to award prizes to authors and groups of authors, including 3 A prizes (each prize worth 30 million VND), 3 B prizes (each prize worth 20 million VND); 4 C prizes (each prize worth 10 million VND) and 12 Encouragement prizes (each prize worth 5 million VND). The Organizing Committee also awarded certificates of honor, souvenir cups and cash prizes (10 million VND) to each character in the 22 winning works.

Following the success of the 16th writing contest, Major General Doan Xuan Bo, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper, Head of the Organizing Committee of the contest, launched the 17th writing contest "Simple but noble examples", with the hope of attracting the response of journalists, writers, collaborators, and readers nationwide - those who write about beauty, arouse goodness, and make society more humane every day. The closing ceremony and award ceremony of the 17th contest is expected to take place in October 2026.
