Award ceremony of the writing contest 'Organic agriculture - For green growth and sustainable development'

After 6 months of launching the writing contest "Organic agriculture - For green growth and sustainable development" (from March 2025 to August 25, 2025), the Organizing Committee received more than 200 articles from more than 30 provinces and cities across the country.

Contribute to raising public awareness

On September 18, 2025, in Ninh Binh , Vietnam Organic Agriculture Magazine held a ceremony to announce and award the writing contest "Organic Agriculture - For green growth, sustainable development".

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Van Ton - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry Economics - Central Policy and Strategy Committee; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha - Deputy Chief of Office of Vietnam Journalists Association ; Mr. Nguyen Sinh Tien, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Ninh Binh province; Mr. Nguyen Van Trong - Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism, Ninh Binh province; Dr. Ha Phuc Mich - Chairman of the Vietnam Organic Agriculture Association and delegates of the Association; Mr. Do Ngoc Thi - Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Organic Agriculture Magazine, Head of the writing contest organizing committee.

In addition, the event was also attended by Mr. Marco Schluter, Vice President of the World Organic Federation IFOAM-Organics International and members; Mr. Mathew John, President of IFOAM-Organics Asia and members; and all distinguished delegates from 14 countries and international organizations attending the 8th Asian Organic Conference; Ms. Jennifer Chang - Executive Director of IFOAM Asia.

Speaking at the announcement and award ceremony, Mr. Do Ngoc Thi, Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Organic Agriculture Magazine, Head of the Organizing Committee, said: The contest has attracted the participation of many professional and amateur writers from many regions and ages. The submitted works not only reflect the reality of production, business and consumption of organic products, but also carry the breath of life and aspirations of farmers, intellectuals and businesses joining hands for a green - clean - sustainable agriculture.

According to Mr. Do Ngoc Thi, the award ceremony of the writing contest “Organic Agriculture – For Green Growth, Sustainable Development” is a practical activity, towards the 8th Asian Organic Conference, held in Ninh Binh province. Through that, it aims to affirm the role of the press in accompanying, encouraging, raising public awareness of organic agriculture, while contributing to spreading the sustainable values ​​of organic agriculture – a field that is increasingly asserting its position in the development process of the international and domestic.

More than just a playground

According to the Organizing Committee, awareness of organic agriculture in Vietnam is still limited. People, especially in rural areas, are still familiar with traditional farming methods based on chemicals. Successful organic production models have not been widely replicated, and difficulties in costs, techniques, and markets remain major barriers.

The writing contest “Organic Agriculture - For Green Growth and Sustainable Development” was launched to overcome those barriers. This is not only a playground for people to share knowledge and experience but also a forum to spread success stories and breakthrough initiatives, thereby raising awareness, motivating and inspiring the community.

The primary goal of the contest is to disseminate knowledge about organic agriculture, its role in human health, the environment and sustainable development. The contest encourages people to learn more about the benefits of clean eating, green living and supporting organic products, thereby raising public awareness. Moreover, the contest aims to discover and honor individuals with profound perspectives, reflect on reality and propose solutions to contribute to promoting organic agriculture to develop in the right direction, effectively and sustainably. In addition, the contest is also an opportunity for the community of readers, experts and young writers to express their views and social responsibility on environmental - agricultural - sustainable development issues.

The competition is not only a “playground” for scientists, researchers, students, professional journalists, those interested in the country’s agriculture and farmers to come up with breakthrough ideas and solutions. These could be innovations in new farming techniques, ways to apply 4.0 technology to organic agriculture, or effective business models.

There are many successful organic farming models across the country, but they are not widely known. The competition is a bridge for those stories to be told, thereby inspiring others, helping them to believe more in the path of organic farming development. Spreading success stories widely. The competition especially focuses on stories from the farmers themselves. Their honest sharing of difficulties, challenges and successes will be a strong motivation, helping other farmers overcome barriers and boldly switch to organic production.

New ideas on organic farming business models, market approaches, or unique solutions to solve land and water problems. The representative of the Organizing Committee said that after 6 months of launching, the contest has attracted more than 200 articles from more than 30 provinces and cities across the country. The entries come from many subjects: journalists, researchers, agricultural officials, organic product production - processing - consumption enterprises, and typical farmers.

The submitted works not only reflect the reality of production, business and consumption of organic products but also carry the breath of life and aspirations of farmers, intellectuals and businesses working together for a green - clean - sustainable agriculture. The Organizing Committee has received many valuable articles, clearly demonstrating discovery, creativity and inspiration.

Many works are investigative and meticulously recorded, clearly reflecting advanced organic farming models, from circular agriculture in the delta to organic production in mangrove areas. Some articles demonstrate profound critical thinking, raising issues of policy, market, and transparency of organic certification - bottlenecks that need to be removed to promote green growth. In addition, young writers bring a breath of fresh air when linking agricultural stories with culture, tourism and green consumption of Gen Z. All show that organic agriculture is not only a method of production, but also a philosophy of life - connecting people with nature in a harmonious and sustainable way.

Through this, we can see a comprehensive picture of the efforts, difficulties, challenges and belief in a green future of organic agriculture in Vietnam. The excellent works honored today are not only worthy results of the authors but also a valuable source of information for the press, policy makers, business community and readers interested in sustainable agricultural development.

After receiving the entries, the Organizing Committee conducted the judging process with strict, scientific and objective procedures.

The jury consists of prestigious experts in the fields of agriculture, environment, economics and communications. The evaluation criteria are clearly established: Creativity and originality: The article must have a fresh perspective and breakthrough ideas. Practicality and feasibility: The content of the article must be highly applicable and can be implemented in practice. Persuasiveness and inspiration: The article must provide accurate, logical information and be able to move the reader. Language and presentation style: The article must be clear, coherent and attractive.

As a result, the Organizing Committee has judged and recognized the awards including: 01 First prize; 02 Second prizes; 03 Third prizes and 10 Consolation prizes.
