22 works honored at the Writing Contest "Simple but noble examples"

On the morning of September 25, in Hanoi, the People's Army Newspaper coordinated with the Press and Publishing Department (Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission), the People's Army Publishing House and the North Asia Commercial Joint Stock Bank to summarize and award the 16th Writing Contest "Simple but Noble Examples" (2024-2025).

22 works honored at the Writing Contest

This year’s contest continues to attract a large number of professional and amateur writers across the country, bringing many emotional works, vividly portraying ordinary but resilient people, dedicated to the community and the Fatherland. After two rounds of judging, the Organizing Committee selected 22 outstanding works to award prizes.

Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, gave a speech directing the contest.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, affirmed: "This year's works continue to have a high level of discovery, vividly reflecting real people and real events, especially the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the new era, steadfast in training, ready to fight, and at the same time a reliable support for the people in preventing natural disasters and epidemics, leading in scientific research and technology application."

Major General Doan Xuan Bo, Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper and Head of the Organizing Committee, emphasized: "Through 16 seasons, the contest has affirmed its profound humanistic values, becoming a forum to honor advanced models in social life. Each winning work is a vivid story, touching the heart, contributing to spreading kindness, encouraging the sense of responsibility and the desire to contribute of Vietnamese people today."

Authors and groups of authors awarded A prize

Three A prizes were awarded to the group of authors Pham Van Tuan - Tong Thi Hai Ly (People's Army Newspaper) with the work "Journalist Ha Dang - a giant of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism"; author Nguyen Thi Huong (Journalist and Public Opinion Newspaper) with a series of articles about Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Huy Hieu; group of authors Nguyen Manh Thang - Duong Thi Thu Hoa (People's Army Newspaper) with the work "Missile Girl".

Editor-in-Chief of the People's Army Newspaper, Major General Doan Xuan Bo, launched the 17th writing contest.

At the award ceremony, many authors expressed their emotions when their works spread stories rich in humanity, affirming that the contest is not only a creative playground, but also contributes to affirming the standard values ​​of Vietnamese people in the new era, while honoring the beauty of Uncle Ho's soldiers' qualities.

Following the success of the 16th season, Major General Doan Xuan Bo also launched the 17th Writing Contest (2025-2026). He expressed his wish: "The contest will continue to receive the participation of many authors, arousing goodness and beauty so that society becomes more humane and kind every day."
