Ho Chi Minh City Center for High-Tech Agricultural Research and Development visits a model of preserving precious medicinal herbs in Cao Bang

On September 18, the Center for Research and Development of High-Tech Agriculture (under the Management Board of the High-Tech Agricultural Zone of Ho Chi Minh City) visited and learned about the model of preserving gene sources of some precious medicinal plants of the Ngan Ha Biotechnology Company Limited, in Trung Khanh commune, Cao Bang province. Joining the delegation was comrade Luong Thanh Tuan - Party Cell Secretary, Director of the Cao Bang Center for Application of Science and Technology Advances.

The comrades in the working delegation discussed the model of conservation and development of the White Orchid tree with Ngan Ha Biotechnology Company Limited.

During the program, the delegation visited the research, breeding, planting and care areas of some precious medicinal plants at Ngan Ha Biotechnology Company Limited such as: Thach Hoc Thiet Bi Orchid, Bach Cap Orchid, Hoang Lien, Khung Kheng, Dansam... and exchanged experiences, potentials of the parties and directions for cooperation and development in the coming time. The Center for Research and Development of High-tech Agriculture proposed a number of solutions to support the promotion of the application of scientific and technological achievements, the application of high technology in agricultural production, market connection, transfer of conservation techniques, development of medicinal plants associated with deep processing and expanding product consumption.

Through information exchange, it is known that Ngan Ha Biotechnology Company Limited, established by Ms. Dinh Thi Thuy in 2014, is the first scientific enterprise in Cao Bang province, a pioneer in researching, preserving and developing indigenous medicinal plants. Up to now, the Company has successfully propagated many medicinal plant varieties using cell tissue culture technology, built concentrated planting areas, and developed many more local specialty processed products. Currently, the Company is cultivating in the laboratory about 80,000 tree orchid species Bach cap , about 50,000 plants orchid T. lac hoc tim ; planted over 3 hectares of orchid Bach cap , about over 200,000 Hoang lien trees ; cinnamon planting area of ​​the enterprise is over 1,116 hectares , entering the stage of exploitation for essential oils. Currently researching, producing and trading many diverse products, including: Wild grape wine, sweet chestnut yeast, honey sticky rice wine - chestnut, sim wine, sweet rice honey sticky rice - chestnut... These products basically have a stable position in the domestic market, some products have been exported to international markets.

From the information exchanged between the parties, the Center for Research and Development of High-Tech Agriculture and the Ngân Hà Biotechnology Company Limited have found many common points and agreed on a number of cooperation directions on the conservation of some precious medicinal plants of Cao Bang province, associated with the national gene pool conservation program that the Center for Research and Development of High-Tech Agriculture is implementing. This will be an important premise to promote the development of high-tech agriculture in Cao Bang, improve the productivity and quality of local specialties, and contribute significantly to serving the socio-economic development of Cao Bang province in a stable and sustainable direction./.
