Among the 11 Vietnamese representatives in the 2026 THE rankings, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (UEH) continues to hold the highest position (top 501-600). The two new faces on this year's golden list are Nguyen Tat Thanh University (top 1001-1200) and Danang University (top 1501+). This is also the year Vietnam has the largest number of higher education institutions participating ever.
Dr. Tran Ai Cam, Principal of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, said that being included in the world university rankings for the first time is an important milestone, affirming the university's continuous efforts in the journey to improve the quality of training, research and international integration.

For the first time, Nguyen Tat Thanh University, Ho Chi Minh City, is included in the world university rankings.
This result was achieved by the school thanks to its systematic investment in teaching staff, laboratory systems, research centers, along with promoting international publications and academic cooperation with schools and research institutes around the world.
According to Dr. Ai Cam, this "sweet fruit" will help the school increase its ability to attract international lecturers, scientists and students, while creating a foundation for developing training programs that meet global standards.
"In the coming time, the school will continue to promote the internationalization strategy of education, invest in strong research groups, and expand the network of academic partners, businesses, and domestic and international organizations," Dr. Ai Cam emphasized.

11 Vietnamese universities ranked in the top 2026 world university rankings
It is worth noting that this year many universities maintained their rankings compared to last year. The number 1 position in Vietnam still belongs to Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics (top 501-600), followed by Duy Tan University and Ton Duc Thang University (top 601-800), Hanoi Medical University is the last unit in the top 1,000 best universities in the world.
THE's 2026 rankings include 2,191 higher education institutions from 115 countries and territories. The rankings use 18 indicators under 5 assessment pillars, including: Research quality (30%); teaching quality (29.5%); research environment (29%); internationality (7.5%); industrial income and patents (4%).
