Vietnam women's futsal team ranked 11th in the world

According to the announcement of the World Football Federation (FIFA), the Vietnamese women's futsal team has risen to 11th place in the world in the October rankings.

FIFA announced the first rankings of futsal for men and women in early May. At that time, the Vietnamese women's futsal team was ranked 13th in the world, while the Vietnamese men's futsal team was ranked 33rd in the world. However, in the second ranking announced on October 11, the Vietnamese women's futsal team jumped 2 places to 11th in the world, while the Vietnamese men's futsal team fell 1 place to 34th in the world. This result is not too surprising. Because the Vietnamese women's futsal team has achieved good results in two international friendly tournaments in the past 3 months. Specifically, the team won the runner-up position at the 2024 International Women's Futsal Championship in China in July and won the 2024 NSDF Women's Futsal Championship in Thailand at the end of September. Including a 2-2 draw with the Thai women's futsal team (ranked 6th in the world). For the Vietnamese men's futsal team, the inability to qualify for the 2024 Futsal World Cup in Uzbekistan has prevented coach Diego Raul Giustozzi and his team from accumulating points to increase their rankings, but instead, they have decreased. The Brazilian men's and women's futsal teams both hold the No. 1 position in the world in the October rankings. Notably, in this second ranking, there are 5 new women's futsal teams participating for the first time: Fiji (62nd), Tahiti (66th), Norway (68th), Solomon Islands (73rd) and Tonga (74th). The Thai men's futsal team also dropped two places to 11th in the world after losing 2-5 to France in the round of 16 of the 2024 Futsal World Cup. Meanwhile, Argentina, the homeland of the head coach of the Vietnamese men's futsal team, jumped two places to 3rd in the world after winning the runner-up position at the 2024 Futsal World Cup. The Vietnamese men's futsal team is currently training in Ho Chi Minh City to prepare for the 2024 Southeast Asian Futsal Championship in Thailand early next month.
