The Vietnamese women's team will gather at the end of October to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games.

Accordingly, 27 players on the call-up list have been sent by the Vietnam Football Federation and Coach Mai Duc Chung to the Vietnam Sports Department. Notably, in this training session, there will be no players from Ho Chi Minh City, because they will focus on competing in the 2025/26 Asian Women's Club Championship in mid-November.

Sharing about personnel issues before the training session, Coach Mai Duc Chung said this is the third training session in 2025 to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand. This training session has many promising young faces of women's football in recent tournaments.

“We hope that the young players will practice their best to be on the list to attend the upcoming SEA Games. In the context that the veteran players are also getting older, succession is very important. The coaching staff also hopes that the young players will progress quickly to catch up, and at the same time always create conditions for them to strive,” said coach Mai Duc Chung.

According to coach Mai Duc Chung, the goal of the national women's team at the upcoming SEA Games is to win the highest position.

“We all know that other countries also invest a lot in their teams, such as naturalizing many players in large numbers, causing difficulties for us. However, despite our small size and weak strength, we have a quick and agile spirit. The VFF leadership continues to create many conditions for the national women's team to compete and train abroad with better teams so that we can learn and gain experience,” said Coach Mai Duc Chung.

According to the plan, the whole team will gather in the morning and practice for the first time in the afternoon of the same day (October 21). On November 20, the national women's team will go to Japan for training and is expected to have 3 friendly matches with Japanese women's club teams.
