After only a few months of intensive professional training, the most important of which was the trip to the VTV9-Binh Dien International Volleyball Cup in May, the Vietnam U20 team did not disappoint the fans' expectations when they completed the set target at the U20 Asian Volleyball Championship taking place in Jiangmen, China.

However, since then, coach Nguyen Trong Linh's team has had a very convincing winning streak. The team won 3-1 against U20 Kazakhstan, won 3-0 against India in the 5-8 qualifying round and on the afternoon of July 8, defeated Chinese Taipei with the same score of 3-0 (25-17, 25-19, 25-15), officially ranked 5th in the tournament.
U20 Vietnam's defense works effectively
The goal of all teams participating in this tournament is not only to compete for high rankings but also to win the right to participate in the 2025 Women's U21 Volleyball World Championship. According to the distribution of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), Asia is given 4 participating slots alongside representatives from other continents.
The U20 Vietnam players were excited with the victory.
The four U20 women's teams of Japan, China, South Korea and Thailand have reached the semi-finals of the U20 Women's Asian Volleyball Championship, so they are automatically guaranteed a place in the world championship next year. However, since China is the reigning U21 Women's World Champion in 2024, they have a priority place in next year's tournament, without needing a ticket from the ongoing Asian tournament.
Coaches Nguyen Trong Linh and Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hoa lead the team.
Therefore, the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) decided to promote the 5th ranked U20 women's team in Asia to replace them and this honor belonged to the U20 Vietnam team. History continued to be written in the name of Vietnamese women's volleyball, this time at the youth level when this was the first time the U20 Vietnam team won the right to participate in the world arena.
