British billionaire Hamish Harding on board

On June 20, Reuters quoted a relative of British billionaire Hamish Harding as saying that Mr. Harding was one of the passengers participating in a tour of the Titanic wreck at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean on June 18 (local time).

Previously, the British billionaire also posted on Facebook that he would take a tour on the Titan submersible. Since then, billionaire Harding's social media account has not been updated with any posts.

Also on board the Titan submersible were Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman Dawood, according to a statement from the businessman's family.

A statement from Dawood's family said the businessman and his father plan to visit the Titanic wreck.

In a recent statement, the private submarine company, OceanGate Expeditions, which organizes the submersible tours, said it is "mobilizing all options" to rescue those on board the missing Titan.

According to the OceanGate website, the Titanic dive expedition costs $250,000 per passenger and will start in the port city of St. John's, Newfoundland. Passengers will then travel by boat to the Titanic wreck site in the Atlantic Ocean, about 640 kilometers (400 miles) from land.

To visit the Titanic wreck, the Titan will take about two hours to descend to a depth of about 3,800 m.

Also according to Reuters , on June 20, the US Navy, Coast Guard and Canada began a search operation for the Titan, the ship's location was determined to be off the southeastern coast of Canada.

According to the US Coast Guard, it is not yet clear whether the Titan is still on the seabed or has surfaced. According to the design, this submersible can stay underwater for up to 96 hours, and the ship itself is also integrated with automatic rescue systems in case of problems.

On the first day of the rescue, US and Canadian ships and planes searched the sea area 1,450 km east of Cape Cod Peninsula. Sonar equipment was also dropped into the water to locate Titan (estimated at a depth of 3,962 m).

According to US Coast Guard Admiral John Mauger, the area where the Titan disappeared has few ships and the rescue process is facing many difficulties.

"We are deploying all available means to locate the Titan and rescue those on board," Mr. Mauger said.

Admiral Mauger said the US and Canadian governments have also issued notices asking commercial vessels operating in the above waters to assist in searching for the missing submarine.

The US Coast Guard previously said on Twitter that the Polar Prince lost contact with Titan about 1 hour and 45 minutes after the submersible moved toward the Titanic wreck on the morning of June 18.
