Vietnam U17 women's team prepares to compete in Asian qualifying round in Ho Chi Minh City

VHO - The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said that on October 3, the coaching staff of the Vietnam U17 women's team announced the list of 23 players participating in the 2026 AFC U17 Women's Football Championship Qualifiers - Group D, taking place in Ho Chi Minh City in mid-October.

During the recent training period, the players have been trained comprehensively in terms of physical strength, technique and tactics.

U17 Vietnam moved early to Ho Chi Minh City to better prepare for the Asian qualifiers.

Moving early to the host location gives the team more time to adapt, creating initiative in preparation.

With home field advantage and high determination, coach Okiyama Masahiko and his team aim to play their best, achieve the best results and participate in the 2026 Asian Finals.

The 2026 AFC U17 Women's Qualifiers - Group D will take place from October 13 to 17 at Go Dau Stadium (Thu Dau Mot, Ho Chi Minh City) with the participation of 3 teams: Vietnam, Guam and Hong Kong (China).

The teams will compete in a round robin, with the group winners qualifying for the 2026 AFC U17 Women's Championship.

List of 23 players competing in the 2026 Asian U17 Women's Qualifiers

According to the schedule, Vietnam U17 women's team will meet Guam on October 13 and Hong Kong on October 17, both matches will take place at 4:00 p.m.

The 2026 AFC U17 Women's Championship is scheduled to be held from April 30 to May 17, 2026 in China, bringing together 12 teams, including 8 qualifying teams and 4 teams entering directly including the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, Japan, South Korea and China.

This is a tournament of special importance as it is also a qualifying round to determine the places to participate in the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup 2026.
