Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee and Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement on digital transformation.

(gialai.gov.vn) – On the morning of October 23, at the headquarters of the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee (Quy Nhon Ward), the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation agreement on digital transformation in Gia Lai province for the period 2025-2030, with a vision to 2035, took place between the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee and the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT). Attending the signing ceremony were comrades: Pham Anh Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Lam Hai Giang - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; To Dung Thai - Chairman of the Board of Members of VNPT Group and leaders of relevant departments, branches, sectors and units.

According to the agreement, VNPT will accompany the Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee in building and deploying comprehensive digital transformation solutions on the pillars: Digital infrastructure, digital government, digital economy and digital society. Specifically, VNPT will support Gia Lai province in developing digital infrastructure, data platforms, smart operating systems; improving digital capacity for civil servants, businesses and people. In particular, focusing on consulting, building specialized databases, shared databases of the province; supporting the operation of smart urban systems at the commune level. Along with that, deploying smart healthcare solutions, smart education, digital citizens. Online training and instructions on using applications to serve people and businesses; implementing the program "Digital Education for the People".

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Comrade Pham Anh Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the capacity of VNPT Group in promoting the development of three pillars of digital transformation: Digital Government, digital economy and digital society; acknowledged the important contributions of the Group in the digital transformation process in the locality in recent times, especially in the period of 2023 - 2025.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that the province always creates the best conditions for VNPT to conduct surveys and analyze the current situation to advise sectors and localities within the scope of cooperation fields. In particular, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested VNPT to prioritize the development of high-quality broadband infrastructure in the whole province, build telecommunications and information technology infrastructure to ensure synchronization, modernity, connectivity, safety, and readiness to meet development needs. Improve the quality of telecommunications and information technology services, 5G coverage throughout the province, especially in key areas, remote areas that need uninterrupted communication, ensuring political security, national security and defense; maintain backup broadcasting stations to ensure communication when natural disasters and floods occur.

In addition, comrade Pham Anh Tuan also requested VNPT to study and support businesses in the province to participate in digital transformation to promote digital economic development; support community digital transformation teams to guide people to get acquainted with basic platforms and applications serving life.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his hope that VNPT, with its presence in the province, will become an "extended arm" of the Department of Science and Technology, supporting Gia Lai province to develop rapidly and strongly in digital transformation, access and apply new technologies well, and meet the requirements and tasks set out in the new period.
