Who is the youngest candidate for medical professor in 2025?

Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Anh Tien is currently Deputy Director of the Cardiovascular Center, Head of the Department of Cardiology, University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Hue University.

He graduated with a medical degree from the University of Medicine, Hue University in 2003; then received a master's degree in Medicine, specializing in Internal Medicine from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University in 2007. In 2011, he was awarded a doctorate in Medicine, specializing in Cardiology from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Hue University.

In 2015, he was appointed Associate Professor of Medicine.

Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tien has two main research directions. The first direction is to study coronary artery intervention and the current prominent related risk factors such as sleep apnea, hypertension and atherosclerosis. The second direction focuses on the application of new biomarkers and non-invasive morphological and functional techniques to predict cardiovascular diseases.

Associate Professor, Dr. Hoang Anh Tien has guided 4 doctoral students to successfully defend their doctoral theses, and 47 master's/specialization 2/resident students to successfully defend their master's/specialization 2/resident theses. He has also completed 15 scientific research topics from the grassroots level and above, including 2 ministerial-level topics (head of 1 topic); 4 provincial-level topics (head of 1 topic); 7 Hue University-level topics (head of 3 topics); is currently head of 1 provincial-level topic and 1 Hue University-level topic.

This candidate has also published 180 scientific articles, including 45 scientific articles in prestigious international journals; published 18 books by prestigious publishers (editor or co-editor of 14 books), including 8 textbooks and 10 monographs/reference books.

In 2007, at the age of 28, Mr. Hoang Anh Tien won 3 awards for scientific research. Among them was the excellent award at the 14th National Young Scientific Conference of Medical Universities with the topic: "Research on sleep apnea syndrome using the self-made SASD-07 machine". This topic brings many benefits to patients using the self-made breathing monitor SASD-07 (Sleep Apnea Syndrome Detective) to detect sleep apnea syndrome.

In 2024, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tien was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Prime Minister for his many achievements in education and training.

The State Council of Professors announced the list of candidates proposed by the Council of Professors for recognition as meeting the standards for the title of professor and associate professor in 2025. This year's list has 933 candidates proposed for recognition as professor and associate professor. Of which, 89 are professor candidates and 844 are associate professor candidates in various fields/interdisciplinary fields. Compared to 2024, the number of candidates this year increased sharply from 673 to 933, an increase of 260 people (nearly 40%).
