WFI 2025 takes place from September 25-28 at Bharat Mandapam International Exhibition Centre, New Delhi, organized by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries of India.
Speaking at the ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the Vietnam Pavilion, Vietnamese Ambassador to India Nguyen Thanh Hai highly appreciated the efforts of enterprises in promoting Vietnamese products abroad, especially in India. The Ambassador emphasized that participating in international fairs and exhibitions like this one not only contributes to expanding trade cooperation opportunities but also promotes the image of the country and people of Vietnam to Indian friends. The Ambassador expressed his belief that the increasingly active presence of Vietnamese enterprises in India will create momentum to promote stronger bilateral economic relations in the coming time. In addition, the Ambassador affirmed that the Vietnamese Embassy and the Trade Office are always ready to support Vietnamese enterprises to do business in India.
In an exchange with businesses, Mr. Bui Trung Thuong - Commercial Counselor of the Embassy of Vietnam in India - emphasized the importance of WFI 2025. He said that the presence of Vietnamese businesses at this prestigious event in the food and beverage sector, with a large international scale, demonstrates the determination to promote bilateral trade and investment cooperation, especially in the potential agricultural and food products sector. He expressed his belief that the Vietnam Pavilion will become an effective trade bridge, contributing to expanding the market and building a sustainable partnership between businesses of the two countries.
On the same afternoon, in his opening speech at the fair, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi described WFI 2025 as an event of new connections, new cooperation and new innovation, and said that India now possesses three strengths in food: Diversity, Demand and Scale, thereby affirming India's unique position in global agriculture .
According to the Organizing Committee, WFI 2025 is held on an area of 100,000 m2, gathering more than 1,500 businesses, more than 800 international buyers from 108 countries. The event also has the participation of nearly 2,400 international delegates, with many outstanding activities such as the Global Food Regulatory Forum, thematic discussion sessions, "Buyer-Seller Meet" trade connection, technology and innovation exhibition programs.
This year's Vietnam pavilion brings together 15 businesses, with hundreds of unique, high-quality products displayed on an area of 150 m². Many products have attracted the attention of local and international buyers as well as visitors, such as: Napoli coffee, Vinamilk 's nut milk, My Phuong Food's coconut cake, Nuts House's cashews, rice, processed fruits, Bao Hung Food's fruit juice, Tomcare Chilica's chili sauce, Duy Anh Food's organic foods, Eherbal... This is a testament to Vietnam's constant efforts in bringing safe, sustainable and innovative products to global consumers.
Speaking to VNA reporters, Ms. Y Nhi - Director of My Phuong Food Company Limited - said this was the first time the company participated in WFI. This time, the company brought to the fair products from Vietnamese coconuts such as pure coconuts, coconuts combined with fruits and nuts. Although India also produces coconuts, customers here were especially impressed with the company's products thanks to their uniqueness and difference. In addition, the company's products are vegetarian and natural, so they are suitable for the popular vegetarian trend in India. However, Ms. Y Nhi said the biggest difficulty now is the price issue: domestic coconut prices are high while Indian partners propose low purchase prices, putting pressure on businesses. However, she is still optimistic about the possibility of winning orders at the fair.
Vietnam's selection as a Key Country at WFI 2025 is an important opportunity to introduce the national image, promote agricultural and food products with high added value, and open up new directions for cooperation in the sustainable food supply chain between the two countries.
