Vietnam - North Korea strengthen traditional friendship

On the evening of October 2, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien attended a reception to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea (October 10, 1945 - October 10, 2025).

Speaking at the ceremony, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu assessed that over the past 80 years, the Workers' Party of Korea has continuously grown and developed, promoting its role in leading and guiding the Korean people to achieve many great victories on the revolutionary path.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu affirmed that since the founding of the Workers' Party of Korea, the Communist Party of Vietnam has been pleased to witness and become a close comrade and brother accompanying the Workers' Party of Korea on its glorious revolutionary journey; at the same time, he firmly believes that the two Parties and peoples of the two countries will always maintain the fine tradition of mutual support and assistance in the process of fighting to protect the country and building socialism in each country.

In his speech at the event, North Korean Ambassador to Vietnam Ri Sung Guk introduced the achievements that the country and people of North Korea have achieved over the past 80 years under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea, headed by generations of leaders including President Kim Il Sung, General Secretary Kim Jong Il and now General Secretary and State President Kim Jong Un.

Ambassador Ri Sung Guk affirmed that the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two Parties and States of Korea and Vietnam, personally built by President Kim Il Sung, the great leader of the Korean people, and President Ho Chi Minh, the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people, and nurtured by generations of senior leaders of the two countries, has been continuously consolidated and developed, in accordance with the aspirations and wishes of the people of each country.

Mr. Ri Sung Guk congratulated the achievements that the Party, State and people of Vietnam have attained in recent times and firmly believed that the Communist Party of Vietnam, headed by General Secretary To Lam, will successfully implement the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and successfully achieve the two goals of becoming a developing country with modern industry and high middle income by 2030 and becoming a developed country with high income by 2045.
