Viettel increases 30% efficiency of information recovery during storm Yagi

Việt NamViệt Nam08/09/2024

Along with mobilizing maximum human resources, means and materials to serve the work of preventing storm Yagi, the Military Industry - Telecommunications Group ( Viettel ) has increased the application of technology, helping to promptly detect and operate and strengthen problems of the communication network serving the people.

The Disaster Prevention and Control application, designed and developed by Viettel, automatically updates network status in real time. Instead of having to manually compile human resources through many layers, data on all transmission station locations, personnel, vehicles, materials, etc. is automatically updated from the front line to the highest commander. The synchronization and accuracy of data thanks to the software contributes to the customer service recovery process being improved by 30% compared to before.

The software's visualization capabilities also help improve judgment and situational analysis to come up with realistic solutions. In addition, the application performs the task of mobilizing support, preparing and transporting generators, batteries, and gasoline in a smooth and coordinated manner, ensuring progress.

Over the past 24 hours, Viettel's Disaster Prevention application has ensured generator operation for 1,400 mobile broadcasting station locations and supported overcoming information disruptions for 650 locations.

In anticipation of the severity of Typhoon Yagi, Viettel has urgently mobilized resources to prepare for the worst-case scenario. In the four provinces expected to be directly affected (Nam Dinh, Thai Binh , Hai Phong, Quang Ninh), Viettel has deployed forces on standby and assigned experienced officers to prevent and combat storms and floods.

More than 5,000 generators were equipped for 14 provinces affected by the storm. All locations and locations at risk of flooding and isolation have personnel on duty, ensuring mechanical and electrical resources and fuel to fix problems when needed.

Regarding the response plan for the transmission network, 51 backup links are ready to respond in case of emergency, adding the Northeast and Northwest 2 network connection backbone from Lang Son to Cao Bang . At 18 key points of the national backbone, 49 inter-provincial backbone points, 268 inter-district backbones, Viettel assigns personnel to work day and night, ensuring the availability of spare cable tools and materials.
