With suitable climate and soil conditions, Hoang Van Thu commune is known as the largest rose growing area in the province. To improve production and business efficiency, many rose growing households have proactively linked together to establish cooperatives, production association groups... Notable among them is Quyet Tien Cooperative.
Mr. Ly Ngoc Tu, Director of Quyet Tien Cooperative, said: The Cooperative was established in 2022. Currently, the Cooperative has 16 members with a growing area of 33.3 hectares of Vanh Khuyen roses. In addition, the Cooperative also cooperates with 43 other rose-growing households with an area of about 100 hectares.
Before the establishment of the Cooperative, member households and associated households had grown persimmons for 5-15 years. However, the production activities of households were still fragmented and small-scale, the application of science and technology in production was limited; product consumption was unstable, there was a situation of being forced to lower prices by traders... After the Cooperative came into operation, these limitations were overcome. Specifically, when joining the Cooperative, member households and households associated with the Cooperative were able to participate in training courses on techniques of planting, caring for, and producing persimmons according to VietGAP standards; support for advanced irrigation systems; sharing experiences in persimmon production... At the same time, the Cooperative also stood up to link and consume products for people at stable prices and higher than the general market by 1,000-2,000 VND/kg.
Mr. Au Van Thu, a member of the Cooperative, said: My family currently has about 800 Vanh Khuyen persimmon trees. Since joining the Cooperative, my family has been trained and guided on persimmon growing techniques, supported with materials for production, and assured in the consumption of products. In recent years, my family has sold an average of 15 tons of persimmons each year at a higher and more stable price than before.
In addition to supporting members, the Cooperative also supports associated households from production to product consumption. Mr. Au Van Phi, Quyet Tien village said: My family has been growing roses for many years. Since joining the Cooperative, my family has been able to focus on care and harvesting, while the Cooperative supports the consumption. In addition, each year the Cooperative supports the family with a certain amount of fertilizer (depending on the yield of each crop) to help the family have better conditions to take care of the rose trees.
Along with the above households, the Cooperative also supports other member households and associated households to improve productivity, quality and product value. Specifically, from 2022 to present, from the State's support resources and its own capital, the Cooperative has supported member households and associated households to build a production area for Vanh Khuyen persimmons according to VietGAP standards; supported 32.5 tons of fertilizer; provided over 2,000 persimmon seedlings; supported the installation of an irrigation system worth 150 million VND;...
In addition, to improve production and business efficiency, the Cooperative has also expanded its seedling production model and has supplied over 40,000 rose seedlings to the market... By promoting its role in organizing production and connecting product consumption, the Cooperative has contributed to increasing income for rose growers. From 2022 to present, the average annual income of members and households associated with rose production with the Cooperative has reached about 150-400 million VND/household, an increase of 20% compared to the period before 2022.
Mr. Nguyen Trong Vinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoang Van Thu Commune, said: Since its inception, Quyet Tien Cooperative has played a good role as a bridge to innovate the form of production organization, gradually building a value chain from production to product consumption. Thereby contributing to increasing the value of Vanh Khuyen persimmon products for members and persimmon growers in the area.
With the results achieved in production and business activities, Quyet Tien Cooperative has been honored to receive certificates of merit from all levels and sectors. Most recently, Quyet Tien Cooperative is one of 8 typical advanced cooperatives in the province to receive a certificate of merit from the Provincial Cooperative Union for its achievements in the emulation movement to develop collective economy and cooperatives in the period 2020-2025.
