Vinh Long opens the 2025 National Student Vovinam Championship

On the morning of October 19, at the multi-purpose gymnasium of Vinh Long University of Technical Education, the Vietnam Vovinam Federation (VVF) in collaboration with Vinh Long University of Technical Education held the opening ceremony of the 2025 National Student Vovinam Championship.

Attending the ceremony were Master Tran Van My, Chief of the sect, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Vovinam Federation; representatives of Vovinam federation leaders of provinces and cities; local departments, branches and leaders of participating schools.

The tournament had nearly 500 athletes and coaches from 30 units including students, universities and colleges nationwide.

Within the framework of the tournament, athletes will compete in 56 sets of medals in three main categories: 28 sets of boxing medals, 28 sets of sparring medals (14 weight categories for men, 14 weight categories for women) and martial arts music competitions for two categories: amateur and advanced.

The 2025 National Student Vovinam Championship is a large-scale sporting event, held again after a 6-year hiatus, and is a practical activity in response to the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho". Through the tournament, students across the country have the opportunity to exercise, strengthen their will and arouse the spirit of solidarity and the aspiration to rise up of Vietnamese youth.

The tournament takes place from October 19 to 25, 2025.
