Vietnam attends Granma-Rebelde, promotes honest media

The first Granma–Rebelde International Press Conference opened in the capital city of Havana (Cuba), with the participation of more than 20 domestic and international press agencies, including Vietnam.

Comrade Yuniasky Crespo Baquero, member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and Head of the Ideological Department, delivered the opening speech at the Press Conference.

According to a VNA reporter in Havana, the event was held to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the newspapers Granma - the mouthpiece of the Communist Party of Cuba - and Juventud Rebelde (Youth Uprising) founded by Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz.

In her opening remarks, Ms. Yuniasky Crespo Baquero, Member of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Cuban Ideological Committee, stressed the importance of authentic media in the current geopolitical context. With this press conference, Cuba joins the chain of global left-wing press events, affirming its international mission and commitment to critical thinking and media innovation.

The press conference brought together influential media outlets such as Palestine's Almaya-deen, People's Daily (China), Nhan Dan (Vietnam), El Siglo (Chile), Conciencia (Mexico) and People's Forum (USA).

At the exhibition space of Granma and Nhan Dan newspapers, many publications introducing the history of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh were introduced to the public. From October 18, the press conference opened to the public with discussion, cultural and entertainment activities for all ages.
