Businessmen: 'soldiers' on the economic front
Speaking at the meeting, Vinh Long Provincial Party Secretary Tran Van Lau affirmed: "Vinh Long province is always committed to accompanying businesses, creating the most favorable conditions in terms of mechanisms, policies, as well as investment and business environment for the business community to maximize their potential and advantages, keeping up with development trends in the integration era".
Mr. Lau expressed his joy at the growth of the local business community, forming a class of "heartfelt and visionary" entrepreneurs, dynamic, creative and full of aspirations for development. Many Vinh Long businesses have reached out to the international market, creating prestigious brands and actively contributing to the economic growth and social security of the province.
Accordingly, Vinh Long province currently has more than 12,000 operating enterprises, distributed over an area of 6,296 km², with a population of over 3.2 million people and 124 administrative units at the commune and ward levels. The province has a strategic geographical location, "three sides bordering the river, one side bordering the sea", located between two major economic centers, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho City, convenient for connecting trade and developing multi-sector economy.
In 2025, Vinh Long's GRDP growth rate will reach 6.33%, in which production and business activities will continue to recover and grow well, making an important contribution to the economy of the Mekong Delta. Total import-export turnover of goods in the first 9 months of the year reached more than 4 billion USD, up 15.56% over the same period last year, reaching 71.86% of the yearly plan. Export turnover alone reached 2.7 billion USD, up 11.11%, reaching 76.54% of the plan.
Total state budget revenue in the first 9 months of 2025 reached VND 16,485 billion, equivalent to 77.1% of the plan, up 9.1% over the same period in 2024. These figures reflect the new vitality, confidence and continuous efforts of the entire political system and business community in restoring the economy after difficult periods.
Breakthrough in business registration and innovative startups
The highlight this year is the rise of the start-up movement and production expansion. By the end of the third quarter of 2025, the province recorded 2,062 newly established enterprises, reaching 127% of the yearly plan, up 96% over the same period last year. Total registered capital reached VND9,407.6 billion, equal to 205% of the plan, a figure that demonstrates businesses' strong confidence in the local investment environment.
Notably, 187 enterprises converted from business households, an increase of nearly 3 times, along with 117 new start-up enterprises, an increase of 54%. This is a testament to the spirit of daring to think, daring to do, daring to start a business of Vinh Long people, and at the same time reflects the positive results of policies to support small and medium enterprises, the "Innovative Start-up" program that the province has implemented in recent years.
In the context of increasingly fierce competition for investment attraction, Vinh Long is proactively restructuring its investment attraction orientation towards green, sustainable and effective direction. The province focuses on calling for clean industrial projects, agricultural processing, renewable energy, supporting industry and high technology, while promoting investment and trade in Korea and some countries with potential for long-term cooperation.
Currently, the province has 218 secondary projects operating in industrial parks and clusters, including 87 FDI projects, with total registered capital reaching VND84,776 billion and USD4.04 billion.
At the same time, the tourism and service sector continues to promote its strengths, with a rich cultural heritage system, garden ecotourism, community tourism and traditional craft villages. This is an important direction to help the province both grow economically and preserve cultural values and local identity.

Accompanying – listening – sharing: Government and businesses develop together
At the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Van Lau emphasized the role of Business Associations and Unions in connecting and reflecting the opinions of the business community, acting as a bridge between the government and the people and businessmen.
He suggested: "Unions and associations need to boldly express their opinions, demonstrate their representative role, and at the same time mobilize businesses to share difficulties and problems, and contribute specific and practical recommendations for the socio-economic development of the province."
Provincial leaders pledged to continue perfecting mechanisms and policies, simplifying administrative procedures, promoting digital transformation in the fields of investment and business registration, thereby creating a transparent and open environment for businesses to confidently expand production.
Representatives of many businesses at the meeting expressed their agreement and appreciation for the government’s open-mindedness. Many comments focused on improving logistics infrastructure, credit support, tax policies and training high-quality human resources – factors considered the “key” to helping businesses develop sustainably.
Strive to have 20,000 enterprises by 2030
Not only stopping at the goal of attracting investment, Vinh Long aims to build the image of a creative government, taking businesses as the center of service. Programs to support startups, human resource training, digital transformation in businesses, international trade promotion, etc. are being strongly implemented, creating leverage to promote comprehensive growth.
Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee Lu Quang Ngoi affirmed that he will continue to support businesses in accessing information, market forecasts, investment orientation, technological innovation and developing high-quality human resources; promoting digital transformation, green economy, and circular economy, in line with new development trends.
At the same time, strengthen dialogue and connection between the government and businesses, maintain regular communication channels, promptly grasp and remove difficulties and obstacles, contributing to strengthening trust and sustainable cooperation between the State and businesses.
Implement public and transparent mechanisms, policies, planning, and development plans, creating conditions for businesses to have equal access to resources; at the same time, encourage businesses to actively contribute ideas to build policies and offer suggestions for the overall development of the province.
In particular, continue to encourage and motivate the spirit of entrepreneurship, innovation and business development in the business community, creating a strong driving force to promote sustainable development (striving to have 20,000 enterprises operating in the economy by 2030, reaching a rate of 20 operating enterprises/1,000 people).
* On this occasion, Vinh Long province honored typical businesses and entrepreneurs with achievements in production and business and contributions to the development of Vinh Long province.
