vivo launches new operating system for smartphones

(Dan Tri) - On the evening of October 15 in Shanghai, China, vivo globally launched the OriginOS operating system. This version will be updated to replace Funtouch OS on previous devices.

OriginOS 6 is designed with the Origin Design system that unifies the entire visual language from colors, shapes, icons, fonts, layouts with dynamic lighting effects (Dynamic Glow) and translucent transparency (Translucent Color).

This update supports customization with a series of new features such as Lock Screen Grid that allows users to arrange and resize each widget, choose fonts and combine photos to quickly update content.

The Home Screen Grid interface has been redesigned with a streamlined 4x7 layout and Adaptive Folders to help organize apps more intelligently.

vivo also works closely with Google to integrate new technologies such as Gemini and Circle to Search to help users have a smarter and more seamless experience.

vivo AI also integrates a series of image editing support tools such as AI Erase, AI Image Expander and AI Photo Enhance. At work, AI supports communication, document editing, content creation and information search, etc.

OriginOS 6 also enhances security with vivo Security, which helps protect user data and privacy. The system ensures transparency, data control, on-device AI processing, and minimizes personal data collection.

The OriginOS 6 update will come pre-installed on the vivo X300 Series. In addition, the platform will also be updated in stages to the company's other product lines from November.
