Identifying the 16 strongest teams at the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship

VHO - The final round of group stage matches of the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship (VĐTG) just ended last night, August 27, in Thailand, finding the strongest teams to advance to the round of 16.

The 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship brings together 32 teams, divided into 8 groups, competing in a round-robin format, selecting the top 2 teams from each group to enter the round of 16.

At the end of the group stage, the 16 strongest teams were determined to be: Netherlands, Thailand (Group A), Italy, Belgium (Group B), Brazil, France (Group C), USA, Slovenia (Group D), Türkiye, Canada (Group B), China, Dominican Republic (Group B); Poland, Germany (Group G), Japan, Serbia (Group H).

As expected, strong teams in women 's volleyball such as the US, Brazil, Italy, Serbia and Turkey are all present in the round of 16.

These are teams that have proven their mettle and class, and almost did not encounter too many difficulties in the group stage.

The US and Italy still showed fast, diverse playing styles, while Brazil and Serbia relied on experience and attacking power to overwhelm their opponents.

Türkiye - the reigning European champions, continue to maintain high form, with a strong attack under the leadership of Ebrar Karakurt.

The US team is in an easy bracket.

Meanwhile, Japan and China still maintain their position in the top group in Asia, especially Japan with its fast playing style and resilient defense promises to be a tough opponent in the knockout round.

The matches in the round of 16 will take place from August 29 to September 1 with a frequency of 2 matches/day.
