(BGDT) - On May 30, in Phuc Hoa commune, the People's Committee of Tan Yen district ( Bac Giang ) organized a conference to promote the consumption of early-ripening lychees. Attending were Mr. Phan The Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of units under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches; enterprises inside and outside the province and a number of lychee garden owners.

Tan Yen early ripening lychee is a famous local product, mainly located in Phuc Hoa commune with the largest concentrated area in the province with nearly 700 hectares. With the district's attention and direction in production, lychee always has outstanding quality, ensuring traceability. With an area of ​​1,340 hectares, this year, the lychee output of the whole district is estimated at more than 15,500 tons; harvest time from May 30 to June 25, 2023.

Tan Yen district attaches importance to all domestic and export markets for lychee consumption. Currently, many enterprises have registered to purchase lychees for export. In particular, thousands of people have come to visit and experience the early lychee growing areas.

On behalf of the district leaders, comrade Ngo Quoc Hung, Vice Chairman of the District People's Committee, requested the central ministries, branches, and the Provincial People's Committee to direct and orient, connect with capable and experienced enterprises to expand the product consumption market; support the promotion and introduction of early lychee and key agricultural products, typical of the district to consumers.

Enterprises, traders, trade centers, supermarkets, and wholesale markets sign contracts with enterprises, cooperatives, and production households to purchase products, creating a chain from production to consumption; creating a sustainable link between lychee growers in particular and agricultural production in general with enterprises investing in the district.

Representatives of the Trade Promotion Agency ( Ministry of Industry and Trade ) suggested some solutions to improve the quality of lychee.

At the conference, many delegates highly appreciated the advantages of Tan Yen early ripening lychee. In addition to being harvested early, the product also has a sweet taste, suitable for the needs of consumers around the world.

According to Mr. Hoang Minh Chien, Deputy Director of the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade), this year, lychee exports to the Chinese market face many challenges. China requires higher criteria for Vietnamese lychees. Therefore, Tan Yen district as well as Bac Giang province need to closely direct the production process to meet the requirements of importing countries. At the same time, invest in deep processing to reduce the pressure on fresh lychee consumption.

The representative of the Department of Quality, Processing and Market Development (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) informed that currently, lychee of Vietnam, including Bac Giang, has uneven quality, there is a difference between the same type of product and some other countries. To maintain and stabilize product quality, Bac Giang province needs to closely monitor and manage growing area codes, promptly instruct farmers on measures to ensure safety, meet export standards as well as domestic consumption.

In his speech, comrade Phan The Tuan emphasized that the conference is an opportunity for Tan Yen to promote and boost the consumption of early ripening lychees of the district; creating opportunities for domestic and foreign enterprises and traders to find partners, cooperate, and sign contracts for product consumption. At the same time, it has an important meaning, not only leading to the favorable consumption of early ripening lychees of Tan Yen but also for main-season lychees in the coming time.

He highly appreciated the proactive and active participation of the Party Committee, government and people of Tan Yen district in connecting and consuming lychee. He hoped that not only lychee would be consumed smoothly but also create a spreading effect, contributing to the successful consumption of other key agricultural products of Tan Yen district such as: pork, guava, grapefruit, star apple...
