Held for the first time in Vietnam, the PPA Asia Tour 2025 attracted 354 amateur and professional athletes to participate in 3 weeks of online registration. Hundreds of players from all over Vietnam and abroad came to Ho Chi Minh City to compete from September 4 to 7 at Global City.

Many famous pickleball players in Vietnam attended, including PPA Malaysia Open champion Trinh Linh Giang, Hong Kong Open champion Hong Wong Kit, Fukuoka Japan Open runner-up Huynh Thien Phuc, Ly Hoang Nam, and female player Si Boi Ngoc.

This time, PPA Australia will be joined by players from the Australian PPA, including Mitchell Hargreaves (seeded No. 2), Louis Laville (British, seeded No. 4), Harrison Brown and 18-year-old Lucas Pascoe. In addition, top Indian player and Malaysia Open runner-up Vanshik Kapadia will also return.

The men's singles event is where the home pickleball player has high hopes for a medal, while the women's singles event is still only a competition between Chinese athletes Yufei Long, Yu-Chieh Hsieh (Taiwan), Nicola Schoeman (Australia) or Roos van Reek (Hong Kong Open champion).

The prize for MB Vietnam Open 2025 is 1,800 USD for the singles champion and 3,000 USD for the doubles event. The point fund remains at the old level of 1,000 points for first place, 800 points for second place and is reduced to 100 points, equivalent to 150 USD in prize money if reaching the 1/6 round of the Main Draw.

The organizers arranged 4 different court clusters including 3 Grand Court clusters and 1 cluster with a Championship Court. 3 Grand Court clusters include 5 courts each, renovated from tennis courts and repainted navy blue. Of the 3 Grand Court clusters, 1 cluster has a roof and stands, 1 cluster only has stands and the remaining cluster is separate for amateur athletes only.

Spectators can buy tickets for 185,000 VND for September 5. Tickets for September 6 and 7 are sold out, including VVIP tickets for 10 million VND, and VIP Daily tickets for 630,000 VND.

Mr. Nguyen Hai Long, Pickleball Development Director of New Sports Company - co-organizer of PPA Tour Vietnam Open 2025, said: "This is the first time there has been a pickleball ticket sale event in Vietnam. After only two hours, we sold out 400 regular tickets and 100 VIP tickets."

This is also the first event of PPA Asia to be held outdoors, unlike previous events in Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Japan. The venue standards are committed to comply with PPA Asia's requirements. The tournament will soon return to Vietnam and the venue will be Da Nang .
