37 works won the 4th Huynh Thuc Khang Journalism Award of Thai Nguyen province

The Award was born when the Provincial People's Council issued Resolution No. 07/2022/NQ-HDND stipulating the content and expenditure levels of the Huynh Thuc Khang Press Award and the Thai Nguyen Provincial Literature and Arts Award in June 2022; In April 2023, the Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 73/KH-UBND on organizing the first Huynh Thuc Khang Press Award in Thai Nguyen Province - 2024. To implement this Plan, the Provincial People's Committee issued a Decision to establish the Organizing Committee and the Award Regulations, assigning the Provincial Journalists Association as the Standing Agency of the Award.

The Standing Agency of the Award has widely deployed contents related to the Award to the Branches, Inter-Branch Associations, affiliated Journalist Clubs, provincial and central press agencies located in the area, and Cultural and Communication Centers of districts and cities. At the same time, information about the Award is posted on media channels for journalists nationwide to submit works to participate in the Award. To ensure objectivity and professionalism in the work of selecting works, the Provincial Journalists Association has advised to invite prestigious journalists in the province and the central government to participate in the Jury. Works participating in the Award are selected through the selection round, preliminary round, and final round.

After 60 days of issuing the notice of receiving entries for the Award, the Organizing Committee received 172 entries in 04 categories (print, visual, audio, electronic) from authors and groups of authors from Central press agencies, representative offices of Central press agencies located in the area; members of the Provincial Journalists Association, reporters and editors from press and propaganda agencies of the province; Cultural and Communication Centers of districts and cities... The entries for the Award basically meet the conditions in the Regulations and Rules of the Organizing Committee.

According to the Jury, although it was the first time the award was held, it attracted the participation of a large number of journalists from press agencies from the central to local levels. The entries were quite diverse in topics, covering a relatively comprehensive range of political , economic, cultural and social issues. They focused on vividly, objectively and truthfully reflecting the achievements and typical models of breakthroughs and innovations of Thai Nguyen province in implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the 20th Provincial Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term and the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term.

The works on Party building and protecting the Party's ideological foundation are highly exploratory and critical, with many good lessons in the works, demonstrating the role of the Party and Party members. Many works are exploratory, raising current issues and new issues from local and grassroots practices. The way of expression is attractive and creative in accordance with the type of journalism, demonstrating the efforts of journalists. However, there is still one work participating in the Award that is limited in terms of topic, information content and expertise.

Through two rounds of preliminary and final selection, under the objective, impartial and highly unified working. The final jury decided to vote to select 37 excellent press works of 04 categories to rank awards, including: 04 works won A prize, 07 works won B prize, 11 works won C prize, 15 works won Encouragement prize. Submit to the Organizing Committee for consideration and decision to recognize the results. After 15 days of public announcement of the works on mass media (from May 8 to May 23), the Organizing Committee did not receive any information related to the Award.

On June 6, 2024, Comrade Le Quang Tien, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, Head of the Award Organizing Committee signed Decision No. 95/QD-BTC on recognizing the results of the 1st Huynh Thuc Khang Press Award of Thai Nguyen province - 2024. The summary and award ceremony will be solemnly organized by the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province on the afternoon of June 14 at the Great Hall of the Provincial People's Council - People's Committee Headquarters.

It can be said that the successful organization of the 1st Huynh Thuc Khang Press Award in Thai Nguyen province - 2024 has opened a professional playground with high journalistic expertise. Each work named in the summary and awarding program will be a great honor that the authors have worked hard to nurture, creating quality journalistic products. This is also a recognition of the dedication, work, and relentless creativity of journalists, contributing to the development of the provincial press. From the provincial award, journalists will have the opportunity to create quality works and products to participate in larger professional "playgrounds" in press awards organized by central ministries and branches, especially the National Press Award.
