Social media communication skills training for post-merger press team

On the morning of June 25, in Khanh Hoa province, the Center for Journalism Training (Vietnam Journalists Association) in collaboration with the Khanh Hoa Provincial Journalists Association opened a training course on "Communication skills on social networks in the context of media agency mergers".

The training course took place over two days, September 25 and 26. This is a forum for lecturers and students to discuss practical content related to the process and form of posting press information on social networks. Here, students were informed about some contents about: The role of social networks in communication; the actual use of social networks in press agencies; the specific content and information requirements of social networks; the combination of press and social networks; some tricks and methods of building communication channels and Facebook groups; barriers and management regulations for press agencies today.

Lecturers also spent a lot of time with students analyzing and recognizing the importance of the press, social networks, and the needs of today's readers; sharing experiences on methods of selecting and processing information on social networks, serving the posting and access work of readers, in order to bring the highest efficiency to media works.

Speaking at the opening of the training course, Journalist Doan Minh Long, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Journalists Association , Chairman of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Journalists Association, said that due to the changes in the actual situation, especially when information technology develops, the situation of international integration, the activities of localities after the merger of the province, the process of operating the new administrative and executive apparatus, issues related to journalism expertise and profession are extremely necessary and need to be innovated to suit the trend. The Khanh Hoa Provincial Journalists Association will develop a plan and continue to coordinate with units to open more annual professional training courses, helping journalists and members improve their communication skills and abilities, meet readers' tastes, and convey information to compete with digital platforms.
