4 people in critical condition after drinking sour soup with puffer fish

(NLDO) - After drinking sour soup with puffer fish, 4 people in Ca Mau were taken to the emergency room in critical condition.

On March 4, a leader of Cai Nuoc General Hospital, Ca Mau province, said the hospital had just received four cases of poisoning after eating puffer fish.

A patient poisoned after eating puffer fish is being treated at the hospital.

According to information from the patient's family, Mr. NUL (60 years old; residing in Phu Tan district, Ca Mau province) was given a puffer fish by a friend. Mr. L. cooked the puffer fish in sour soup and invited Mr. NHC (47 years old), NVT (56 years old) and TNL (69 years old) to drink.

Not long after eating, Mr. TNL fell into a coma and was taken to Cai Nuoc General Hospital by his family for emergency treatment. The remaining cases were also taken to medical facilities by their relatives immediately after.

"All four patients were diagnosed with puffer fish poisoning. They have overcome the critical stage after a period of intensive treatment" – the leader of Cai Nuoc General Hospital informed.
