4 cars collided in series, causing traffic jam on the highway through Thanh Hoa

(Dan Tri) - A series of collisions between 4 cars caused traffic congestion on the Mai Son - National Highway 45 through Thanh Hoa province on the afternoon of the 5th day of Tet.

At around 3:00 p.m. on February 2 (the 5th day of Tet), on the Mai Son - National Highway 45, Thanh Hoa - Hanoi direction, there was a long traffic jam, many cars inched forward.

According to some drivers, the traffic jam lasted for more than an hour, and occurred in Thieu Quang commune, Thieu Hoa district, Thanh Hoa province.

According to information from Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 3, Traffic Police Department ( Ministry of Public Security ), the cause of the traffic jam was a series of collisions between 4 cars.

After receiving the information, the functional forces of Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 3 were present at the scene, diverting traffic and guiding vehicles to change direction to the exit of National Highway 1A.

Vehicles are directed to follow Highway 1A to avoid prolonged traffic jams on the highway (Photo: Minh Trang).

Authorities also mobilized traffic rescue vehicles to handle the scene.

By about 4:20 p.m., the traffic congestion on the route had been resolved and traffic returned to normal.
