On the morning of June 19, the City Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025) and the 43rd Ho Chi Minh City Press Awards in 2025.

Attending the event were comrades: Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Nguyen Thanh Nghi, Party Central Committee member, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee; Nguyen Van Duoc, Party Central Committee member, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee .
Also attending were members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, leaders of Ho Chi Minh City through the periods, leaders of the Vietnam Journalists Association and Ho Chi Minh City; leaders of Central and Ho Chi Minh City press agencies; and outstanding reporters and editors.


Speaking to review the tradition, comrade Nguyen Tan Phong said that the team of journalists continues to strive to meet the highest requirements and new tasks, closely following the Party's policies and guidelines, and the State's regulations to vividly reflect all aspects of political, socio -economic, national security and defense life... Thereby, promoting and spreading good values, contributing to maintaining political stability, consolidating the great national unity bloc, creating social consensus and people's trust in the cause of national renewal.
The press in Ho Chi Minh City, along with the press in the whole country, has continuously grown and developed, showing high responsibility, producing many high-quality press works with a spirit of innovation. Press works have an impact on encouraging and motivating new elements, good and right things in society and in the simple lives of workers.

According to the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association, with a sense of responsibility, discipline and enthusiasm, journalists have strived to create many high-quality journalistic works, leaving a positive and memorable impression, contributing to promoting solidarity and social consensus. The Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association, together with newspapers and radio stations, has become a bridge between members and Party committees, Party organizations and authorities at all levels; affirming that the press is an important resource in implementing the Party's policies and the State's laws.
“In 2025, competing to achieve achievements to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, journalists will be even more enthusiastic in carrying out their duties and activities, enthusiastically participating on all fronts and in all fields,” Comrade Nguyen Tan Phong emphasized.

According to comrade Nguyen Tan Phong, in parallel with promoting the emulation movement "Building a cultural environment in press agencies", the press actively responded to the 2025 theme of Ho Chi Minh City, which is "Focusing on streamlining the apparatus to be streamlined - strong - efficient - effective - efficient; promoting digital transformation; Resolution No. 98/2023/QH15 of the National Assembly; fundamentally resolving the city's difficulties and backlogs".
The 43rd Ho Chi Minh City Press Awards 2025 attracted 285 works from 18 press agencies of the city to participate in the award in all 4 press categories, much higher than previous seasons. The Ho Chi Minh City Press Awards Council decided to award 72 prizes for the best press works, including 6 First Prizes, 16 Second Prizes, 23 Third Prizes and 27 Encouragement Prizes.

The award-winning press works have rich and diverse content, truly reflecting outstanding achievements in economic, cultural and social development; Party building and rectification work... This year's Ho Chi Minh City Press Awards have an additional award structure specifically for outstanding press works on Party building work.
"The Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association, together with newspapers and radio stations, will further enhance the spirit of responsibility and innovation to excellently fulfill their tasks, worthy of the care and trust of the Party Committee, government, and people of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country," affirmed the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association.



SGGP Newspaper won 7 prizes , including 2 first prizes, 1 second prize, 1 third prize and 3 consolation prizes.
Specifically: First Prize in the Party Building group with the series of articles "Waste - Internal invaders" , by the group of authors: Vo Minh Phong, Ngo Sy Binh, Van Minh Kiet, Bui Thi Thu Huong, Bui Thi Hong, Nguyen Van Cuong, Nguyen Bao Van, Do Xuan Trung, Nguyen Quoc Khanh.
