Seized more than 450 packs of smuggled cigarettes

HNN.VN - On the afternoon of October 8, the leader of the City Market Management Department informed that Market Management Team No. 2, under the unit, had just inspected PN Trading and Service Company Limited (Ly Thai To Street, Huong An Ward, Hue City) with Ms. Nguyen Thi PN as director because of signs of trading in imported cigarettes of unknown origin.

Authorities discovered imported cigarettes of unknown origin at PN Trading and Service Company Limited.

Specifically, at the time of inspection on the afternoon of October 7, the authorities recorded that the facility was selling a large quantity of imported cigarettes without invoices or documents proving their legal origin. These products also did not have import stamps and did not have health warning labels as required by Vietnamese law.

The total number of confiscated illegal items included 458 cigarette packs, including 119 JET brand packs and 339 ESSE brand packs, all of which are imported cigarettes that are banned from circulation without legal documents.

Pursuant to the provisions of Decree No. 98/2020/ND-CP (amended and supplemented by Decree 17/2022/ND-CP and Decree 24/2025/ND-CP), all of the above cigarettes are identified as smuggled goods. Currently, Market Management Team No. 2 has drawn up a record of violations, temporarily detained all exhibits and continued to complete the dossier for handling in accordance with the law.
