Agribank Phu Nhuan Branch awards "Sowing the seeds of knowledge" scholarships

Attending the event were Mr. Pham Nguyen Hoang Vu, Deputy Head of the Propaganda Department of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee; Ms. Huynh Thi Phuong, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Dong Thap Province and representatives of departments and branches; Mr. Truong Tuan Anh, General Director of the State Investment Company of Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Dinh Minh Trung, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Tuoi Tre Newspaper. On behalf of Agribank , there were Mr. Phan Van Ba, Deputy Head of Agribank Representative Office in the Southwest region; Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Director of Agribank Phu Nhuan Branch.

The Sowing Knowledge Scholarship Program was implemented by Tuoi Tre Newspaper in collaboration with Agribank Phu Nhuan Branch ( Ho Chi Minh City) since 2018. After 8 years of implementation, the Program has awarded more than 5,365 scholarships and gifts to poor students, with a total value of nearly 10 billion VND. In 2025 alone, Agribank Phu Nhuan Branch will spend 1.6 billion VND, awarding 800 scholarships to poor students who have overcome difficulties to study well in 4 provinces: Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Tay Ninh and Thanh Hoa.

Dong Thap is the first locality where the Organizing Committee has implemented the program this year. 200 disadvantaged students with good and excellent academic achievements in Long Thuan ward, Tan Dong commune and Hiep Duc commune (Dong Thap province) were selected to receive scholarships this time. Each scholarship includes a bicycle and school supplies (worth 2 million VND). The total cost of the program is up to 400 million VND.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Pham Van Hoa, Chairman of the Trade Union, Deputy Director of Agribank Phu Nhuan Branch, said that as a key State-owned commercial bank in the area, up to now, Agribank Phu Nhuan Branch has a total capital of over 7,500 billion VND, total outstanding loans of nearly 6,000 billion VND. In recent years, in addition to performing well its business tasks, Agribank Phu Nhuan Branch has also participated in many social security programs, contributing to improving the spiritual and material life of the people. Agribank Phu Nhuan Branch is committed to continuing to accompany the Program, so that more and more poor students will be helped and given the conditions to study with peace of mind.

This is a program of great humanitarian significance, a great source of encouragement, helping children have more determination to overcome adversity, so that they can later become useful people for their families and society.
