Ba Be commune officials help people arrange belongings and clean up. |
During the peak days of the flood, many households in Pac Ngoi and Bo Lu villages of Ba Be commune had to evacuate people and their properties to safe places. Immediately after the water receded, the local government mobilized militia, union members and youth to help people clean up their houses, clear the flow, clean the environment and disinfect the flooded areas.
Mr. Ma The Bach, Pac Ngoi village, Ba Be commune said: Every time there is heavy rain here, the water level rises, so people have proactively moved valuable assets to higher places, so there is less damage than in previous times. People have also stocked up on food so there is no shortage. Currently, the water level has receded, but vegetables, rice fields, and corn are submerged due to heavy rain and lack of clean water for daily use, which are the difficulties that people still have to face.
As a locality that suffered heavy economic damage, people's lives were greatly affected. However, with timely support from the commune and province, households were provided with food, clean water, medicine and essential necessities. Up to now, the households' lives have basically stabilized.

After the water recedes, the village will focus on environmental sanitation and spraying disinfectants to ensure safety.
