Bac Ninh: Mobilizing forces to prevent the overflow of the left dike of Cau Bridge

BAC NINH - Due to the influence of storm No. 11, on the afternoon of October 8, the flood on Cau River continued to rise above alert level 3. It is expected that the flood will continue to rise due to water flowing from upstream, with the risk of overflow at some locations on the left dike of Cau, through Hop Thinh commune.

The Left Bridge Dike is an extremely important dike, playing a role in protecting the safety of life and property not only in Hop Thinh commune but also in neighboring communes and industrial zones. If an incident occurs, it will greatly affect production and people's lives.

Officers and soldiers of Artillery Brigade 675 deployed to protect the dike with local authorities.

According to local people, the water level of Cau River this year is higher than that of the historic storm Yagi last year. In response to this situation, the commune has mobilized forces to build dikes to prevent overflow at some locations on the left dike of Cau River through Huong Ninh and Da Hoi villages.

Faced with the urgent situation, officers and soldiers of Artillery Brigade 675 (Artillery Command) were present in time with the people, police, and militia to concentrate on reinforcing and raising the dike surface.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Ngoc Khuong, Deputy Brigade Commander of the 675th Artillery Brigade, said: Upon receiving information from the locality that it was necessary to increase the force to build dikes to prevent overflows, the unit quickly mobilized officers and soldiers to the field. We divided into groups, brought along tools to coordinate with the locality to urgently build dikes.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoe, Huong Ninh village, currently a worker at the industrial park, shared that she came home from her 3 p.m. shift and heard that the local authorities were mobilizing manpower to build the dike. Forgetting all the fatigue after a day of work, she immediately joined everyone to shovel soil and tie anti-overflow bags.

At about 5:00 p.m., the flood on Cau River was close to the dike surface, flowing through Da Hoi village.

People gathered sacks ready to participate in anti-overflow.

Disaster prevention materials are gathered right at the dike construction site.

The working atmosphere is urgent.

At 5:50 p.m., part of Da Hoi village was cut off by flood water.

Determined to protect the safety of the dike, until after 7 p.m., officers and soldiers of Artillery Brigade 675 were still highly focused on their mission, expected to be completed tonight.
