The first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi took place at Thang Long Imperial Citadel. |
The festival, organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Hanoi People's Committee, aims to honor the value of cultural diversity and enhance people-to-people exchange between Vietnam and the international community.
This year’s festival set a record in terms of scale, bringing together 48 countries with a total of 45 national cultural spaces, 34 international food stalls, 23 art troupes and 12 book and publication units. The international film screening program also attracted representatives from 22 countries.
During the three days, Thang Long Imperial Citadel will become the "common home" of the world, where the public can admire unique cultural colors, from performing arts, music, traditional costumes, to cinema, fine arts and cuisine, all blending together in an atmosphere of friendship and solidarity.
The Opening Ceremony (October 10 evening) and Closing Ceremony (October 12 evening) will take place at the central stage of Thang Long Imperial Citadel. The Opening Ceremony will bring together famous artists such as Tung Duong, Hoa Minzy and international artists, bringing a fusion of tradition and modernity.
The Closing Ceremony with Truc Nhan and Hoang Thuy Linh will close the event with energetic performances. Both ceremonies combine art performances and innovative 3D Mapping technology, conveying the message: "Culture is the bridge of humanity, creativity is the common language of the world".
One of the unique highlights is the Fashion Show - "Footsteps of Heritage" taking place on the evening of October 11. With the participation of nearly 100 traditional costumes from many countries, the event is not only a fashion show but also a journey to honor heritage, where the audience can admire the brilliant diversity of the world through the language of traditional colors and patterns.
Throughout the two days of October 11 and 12, interactive experiential activities continuously took place. On the "Cultural Road", visitors could visit booths from nearly 50 countries such as China, Korea, Japan, the United States, Russia, France, Iran, Laos..., which introduced the characteristics of history, art, costumes and customs, and had the opportunity to experience wearing traditional costumes.
At the round stage, traditional art performances and international performances take place continuously, with the participation of Vietnamese and international artists from Japan, Russia, Cambodia, Mongolia, Cuba, Romania...
At the same time, the Food Street opens from 9:00 to 21:30, where visitors can explore multinational cuisine and participate in workshops, while the International Film Screening program introduces outstanding cinematic works at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel Hall.
With the motto "Culture is the foundation - Art is the means", the first World Cultural Festival in Hanoi is not only a large-scale cultural event but also a typical foreign affairs activity of Vietnam in 2025.
The event aims to become an annual international event, contributing to connecting countries, promoting people-to-people exchanges, enhancing mutual understanding and trust, and affirming the important role of culture in implementing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, towards peace, cooperation and prosperity.
