- The Ministry of Finance proposed to amend the Law on Value Added Tax (VAT)
The Ministry of Finance is seeking comments on the draft Law on Value Added Tax (amended) to remove inadequacies and overlaps in the value added tax legal system. The basic content of the draft is basically inherited from the current Law but has been adjusted and supplemented to be consistent with the policy content (according to Chinhphu.vn).

In a report sent to the Government meeting on economic restructuring for the 2021-2025 period, the Ministry of Planning and Investment said that in the 2021-2023 period, the State Bank has resolutely implemented the restructuring of the credit institution system. The State Bank is studying the proposal to participate in restructuring SCB from a number of investors, to urgently submit to the Government a plan to restructure SCB according to regulations (according to Tuoi Tre).
- VinFast announced changes in leadership
On January 6, 2024, VinFast, Vietnam's leading electric vehicle manufacturer, announced a change in its leadership. Accordingly, Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, founder and Chairman of Vingroup, VinFast's parent company, will move from the role of Chairman of VinFast's Board of Directors to take on the position of General Director of VinFast, replacing Ms. Le Thi Thu Thuy. Mr. Vuong will also take over the position of Executive Director. Ms. Thuy will move from the role of General Director of VinFast to take on the position of Chairwoman of the Board of Directors.
