On October 7, rising river water isolated Na Ri Ethnic Boarding School (Na Ri commune, Thai Nguyen province).
Ms. Nong Thi Tuyet, the school principal, said that on October 7, more than 270 students were still on campus. Teachers had instructed them to move to the second and third floors to ensure safety. Food and provisions had been provided, enough for October 7.

Previously, floodwaters rose rapidly, causing the only road into the school to be deeply submerged and the current to be strong, making it difficult to access and provide support.
Local authorities and functional forces are closely monitoring the situation and are ready to deploy plans to ensure the safety of students and teachers as the floods continue.

By 4 p.m. the same day, over 100 students from Na Ri Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities had been brought to safety by authorities. Rescue work is still underway, but is facing many difficulties due to strong currents and difficulty in accessing.
Currently, local authorities, police, military, and militia forces are closely monitoring the scene, ready to deploy measures to ensure absolute safety for students, teachers, and school facilities as the floods continue.
Faced with the complicated weather, on October 7, many schools in Thai Nguyen province proactively informed students to temporarily stop attending in-person classes, switch to online learning or take a day off to ensure safety. Teachers at schools organized instructions, assigned lessons, review videos and study materials via online platforms. Universities and colleges in the area also announced that students would take a day off to avoid traveling during bad weather.
Previously, on October 5, the Department of Education and Training of Thai Nguyen province issued an official dispatch directing educational institutions to proactively respond to storm No. 11, requiring them to be on duty 24/7 to monitor the situation and promptly inform staff, teachers, employees and students; not to be negligent or subjective.
