According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment , this is a very strong storm, moving quickly and rarely passing through an area where many ships are operating; heading towards the mainland of the North Central region, which has just suffered heavy damage from storms No. 3 and No. 5.

This afternoon, September 26, the National Civil Defense Steering Committee held an urgent meeting to deploy response measures.

According to the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention, storm No. 10 moves very fast, up to 30 km/h, so ensuring safety for ships must be done very urgently. In addition, the work of securing houses, warehouses, wharves, and pruning trees to release water from reservoirs must be done early.

Localities need to pay attention to reinforcing and ensuring safety for key locations of weak dikes, dike lines facing the sea, and low dike elevations.

This is considered the most destructive storm in many years.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Nguyen Hoang Hiep, member of the National Civil Defense Steering Committee, said that based on previous experience and reality, consecutive storms are very dangerous and can leave serious consequences.

The Deputy Minister noted that people should absolutely not be subjective in the face of storm No. 10. Localities need to organize reviews and prepare plans to evacuate households in dangerous areas, especially coastal areas, areas at high risk of landslides, flash floods, and deep flooding to safe places; have plans to support temporary accommodation, food, and necessities for people who have to evacuate, ensuring a stable life for people; prepare forces, means, equipment, and necessities according to the "four on-site" motto to be ready to respond to all situations.

In Cua Lo ward, the rain in the morning of August 17 also caused many roads such as Binh Minh, Sao Nam... to be heavily flooded, and the authorities had to stretch ropes to prohibit vehicles from passing. Photo: P.V

Be ready to deploy forces to guard and control people and vehicles passing through tunnels and spillways to prevent unfortunate human losses due to carelessness and subjectivity. It is especially necessary to ensure communication in all situations, helping the command work to be smooth when the affected area is likely to be greatly divided.
